I hope so, but I am not confident that will be the case. What a disaster, to lose the tags from your collection. Thumbs down That's why I've taken to burying tags in addition to the one that sticks up in the pot. Long story there that I'll share one of these days.

I do believe I will have to start burying the tags, with the antics of the Blue Jays and squirrels. I have one that no longer has a tag and I am not sure what it is. : (

In many pots, I now have two tags, and also a buried one. The second tag is in case the first one blows out of the pot, breaks or ages past the point of legibility. I've found that tags exposed to the weather can lose their writing before I notice, so I'll have the second tag as a backup. The name is on both sides of the tags, and also a third/sometimes 4th time on the bottom of the tag that's embedded in the ground.. Am I getting obsessive or what? I agree

I just keep picturing Chris out at 2 and 3 am to find the culprit damaging her beds and pots, then driving 20 miles with the errant toad. Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling

Yeah, I guess burying tags in pots is minor, when you consider what some others do..... Whistling

I have a terracotta shard tag, plus a written inventory on the landscape bed. In the four inch stock plants I have two pots with a tag each, depending on how many of each variety I have.

My critters keep me busy making covers. See this pic? The plant on the left had disappeared. Couln't find it. Of coarse I blamed the pup. Well, it wasn't Dufess, it was Abigail the chicken. she got up there and got it and dropped it by a chair where I sit once in awhile. There it was, laying on the ground. Poor thing. I replanted it and made this frame. Thumb of 2010-09-05/Ridesredmule/064d5a
Jackie may have to make one to keep the squirrels out of hers.

I'd have to use up lots of lumber making them for ALL my plants, Charleen! Rolling on the floor laughing I'm hoping I have enough for everybody - although the squirrels don't seem to dig up the Semps, they sometimes dig holes to put their stash of cones. Then in the spring I get little seedlings in a clump.

Gorgeous Lynn...love the colors. Lovey dubby

Wow Charleen...you've got quite a collection going on there. Thumbs up
They look great, even if Abigail did bring it to your chair. Rolling on the floor laughing

Here's the list from Jack at Cavendish Perennials - so I have a selection of some of these - I'll post some pics tomorrow, and maybe we can narrow it down - that would be fabulous!

'Aquarius' - grey-green backe/tipped red
'Melanheuff' - deep brown-red - silver edge
'Greenstone' - green- maroon tips/dark winter??
'Violet' - deep violet purple - trace of green
'Inferno' -large, maroon-red - green deep in centre

No descriptions held for these: 'Henri Correvon' , 'Mystique' , 'Aphrodite', 'Bandero', 'Blaze', 'Maduro', 'Torrid Zone'

'Gold Bug' - self explanatory, but 'Xanthoheuff' is also yellow/gold.

Wow, that might be really difficult Jacki. There might be one or two that you can positively ID, but the others can look so much like each other at times.
These are all pictures of h. "Bronze Ingot"
May of this year

June of this year

Thumb of 2010-09-06/valleylynn/a130f5 July of this year

Here is h. 'Wotan'
July of this year

If these two varieties got mixed up, I know I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

Jackie, please repost your noid pics here, near the list. I'm pretty sure yours was not Mystique.

Lynn, Purple Haze is one of my favorites as well. It is so beautiful in the summer. During cold weather it turns very dark, like the outside edges are black.

All the heuffs have had a tough time of it this summer. Of course this is their first year here. I will be so glad when we start getting a little rain. We did have one glorious day of rain, everything was so happy.
