Yes, the stats match. The beard is still bothering me though in the pic. I can't find other pics on the internet, though to compare.

The beard color will be important because there are so many purples. Plus. Grand Master looks to have a more pronounced lighter patch under the beard. But that may be just a difference in the photos.

The form looks very different to me. Does not look like a match. The bottom pictures looks like it has more ruffles and the "Falls" are bigger and fuller than the top picture. The beard is different too.

Oh my goodness! I think I found it. I was browsing through Hummingbird Garden's website and saw a pic of Space Viking. The pic on this database doesn't look like it, though. Has anyone seen Space Viking?

Since we have so many new members I thought I'd give this No ID (Tag 01) another try get some possible leads for a ID. It's a TB, and blooms early to midseason.

Barbara - are the beards blue with yellow at the throat? Or are they more white?

Okay, that helps. Just wanted to make sure the color was right on my end.

Sorry if I'm repeating myself from somewhere else whereabouts unknown, but I have a few pictures of NOIDs that I thought I'd post. They are all tall bearded irises and I would say they're heirlooms if I knew how old something has to be to call it an heirloom. They all were 'liberated' from an alley and from a house (unoccupied due to probate) built in '54.
Oops. Looks like only 1 is on my phone. Will post more whenever I get to my desktop.

Tall bearded pale purple / blue. Must be a heirloom due to my liberating it from an alley.

It sure looks like an historic by the form of the bloom, but I'm not too familiar with them. Maybe some of the collectors of historics will have some guesses. Try to get some larger pictures and more close ups next season if you can, that might help. Smiling

If this had a name attached, would anyone possible be interested? I posted it earlier this spring. After reading a email from the sender, she listed it as a mini dwarf bearded iris.. so far it's my favorite little I have. It's not famous enough yet to give a fun name to, but have it listed as noid #2 it's heavy fruit scented too. Gave out 4 blooms per stalk. Now it's in the ground and is increasing pretty good.
