I don't believe I have one like that one, Gabe. I have approximately twenty little irises that were planted last year and did not bloom this spring. If those bloom next spring I will see if any are close. I grow 450 named SDB's but there are so many lovely ones offered I could easily not have that one. It is a lovely little guy. Smiling

It is quite lovely. I do not have any like it. When yours bloomed was it really short? Or about the same as your other dwarfs? Just wonder if it is a true MDB or not. That may narrow the ID choices.

I had two rhizomes bloom last year and both were less than a foot tall each. I posted it awhile back. April 12 and 15th were the bloom dates.

The sender was my Infamous eBay noid purchase. They're no longer listed or changed profiles. I can't even notify them.

I planted the side by side so hopefully I can see some consistent results this upcoming spring. I'm guessing they'll bloom since they've received a good jump start this year being planted in the ground this past June.

One more pic. I couldn't pay it to settle either.

You will be able to tell more about it once it is established. Often first years blooms are a little bit off what they are registered as. It looks like an MTB from the bloom but could easily be an SDB. I am intrigued.

Bonnie I have several others that are fingernail size rhizomes too. Hopefully this spring I'll get a better picture of what other mysteries are in the garden.

If the small ones from Neal and Tom do well in my more shady garden I'll start adding more. These littles are starting to grow on me a little more day by day...

Bonnie - I thought it looked a lot like an MTB too! And it looks familiar too but I can't locate it yet....

Cuzz4short said:If this had a name attached, would anyone possible be interested? I posted it earlier this spring. After reading a email from the sender, she listed it as a mini dwarf bearded iris.. so far it's my favorite little I have. It's not famous enough yet to give a fun name to, but have it listed as noid #2 it's heavy fruit scented too. Gave out 4 blooms per stalk. Now it's in the ground and is increasing pretty good.

My Bamboozle hasn't bloomed yet but we can compare when it does.

I don't think it is Bamboozle. This is my photo of it this spring and you can see the beard is really orange tipped and there is much more white on the center of the falls. Also, Bamboozle has dark brown veins on the hafts.

I think Gabe's little iris is an MTB instead of a miniature dwarf or standard dwarf. Four blooms per stalk would not be consistent with a dwarf. It is lovely and I would like to see more photos and info such as how tall etc. when it blooms next spring.

This is a very periwinkle colored blue self. Pre 2003. Any ideas?

And then there is this heavily blooming and fertile pre 2003 also. Ideas?

Here are a couple more NOIDS I'd like to identify. This seems to be a plicata.

Attractive no IDs everyone.

@Zencat I planted milkweed without seeing any Monarchs these past two years. I pulled one up that was growing to close to an Iris and gave it to a friend. He texted me within the week to report he had seen the first monarch butterfly ever in his yard and it zoned right in on the milkweed. It gave me hope.

I have a large patch of milkweed in one of my pastures that I never mow down. I have lots of Monarchs around here. Smiling

Niki, I don't think I've ever seen a Monarch here. Lots of Swallowtails and, more recently, Western Pygmys! I had a picture of the pygmy but I must have deleted it.

I have very few Monarchs come through... Lots of Swallowtails, and tons of California Sisters.. others that I have to look up to remember their names.. I did get a picture of a Monarch as it stopped on a Plumbago (Ceratostigma griffithii).. I was charmed by the numbers of butterflies that were here when I moved in.. I still am..

I'm always amazed at how hard it is to get good pictures of them. When I have the camera, they either aren't around, or if they are will land with their wings up. When I don't have the camera, they will land and pose so nice. I just quit trying to take pictures of them now and just enjoy them live. Smiling
