Well, that should make it easier to ID perhaps?

Chris does the violet one you posted rebloom? How tall are its stalks on average? I think Breakers when I see it.

The one I just posted, which is the one I assume you're talking about has three more blooms on it. One ready to open any day now. The bloom that is open is on a stalk 32" tall.

@chris1948. Niki means does this blue iris you just posted bloom in the Fall as well? Or attempted to in the Fall?

I've had Breakers for 3 years and it has never tried to re-bloom...so that may not be the best criteria to use.

That being said, I think Breakers is a good possibility. Here are a couple photos from my garden in different lighting situations.

Yup, I think Schreiner's has gotten too big to be accurate. I won't be ordering from then any more. They seem to want to sell to box stores anyway, and they don't have to worry about being accurate there, just stuff in a rhizome and call it good. Make a fast buck and keep the bean counters happy. My last order from them was so dried out it's now been 3 years, and none of them have yet bloomed. They're looking like they might bloom this year, I hope they are what I ordered.

That's such a vibrant purple Chris. I think I have one similar to that? It reblooms in Fall. Thumbs up

Your photo and mine seem similar to me -- but is the white around the beard on your authentic Long's Peak more diffuse and without the clear white lines my NOID has? Is that the difference you see? I'm trying to be sure because you know how it is trying to compare photos taken in different lighting and with different cameras.

It hasn't bloomed this year, but from memory I don't remember any lines on it. My memory is sad and I'm no expert but the differences in what I see in both of them are the beard and absence of the lines. looking at all my photos in the computer of Long's Peak look very similar to the ones I posted. The photo of LP in the database is not the best for comparison purposes. What does everyone else think? This is a great learning opinion.

Jan, when that iris increases enough to divide I would like to buy, borrow, beg, swap or steal for postage a start of it. Keep me in mind, please.
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
