Great to have you here Cynthia - I have a Sedum and Succulent nursery, see my link below. I agree with you that it does take some of the fun out of it to have to keep track of it all, but as I do mostly mail order, I still have the ability to say sorry, not available, not like in a real garden center where they say, what do you mean? There's more right there!

While it can be burdensome to keep track, I do get pleasure out of doing the annual inventory and lists. It helps me to assess each plant several times a year and forces me to pay better attention. I discover no limit of interesting things doing that.

I've decided to move a number of my J. heuffelii to serve as 'ground cover" in my larger small fruit pots. These are 14-20"+ in size, so there is ample rooms for the heuff's that don't spread too much. I started this in a small way last year, but intend to accelerate this year. I think the larger pot sizes will work well with the heuff's, which don't seem to like to dry out as much as the semps.

Great idea twit. Food for the soul and food for the tummy. Doesn't get much better than that.

I love doing the inventory, and find it so interesting to see how each variety does in the different seasons. Also it is amazing the difference in amount of offsets from one variety to another. Already after just one year of observing I find there are some varieties that are very slow in producing offsets.

My S 'Gruenrand' is looking good. It is a very nice semp that is a very slow producer. I've had it several years now, I think, but have only seen about 3 offsets. It's got to be close to being one of the slowest producers.

I have found that slugs love Orostachys spinosa. They slide right past all the other varieties of Orostachys and other plants, and will only feed on spinosa. Spinosa is gone, every last speck of it. I tried keeping slug bait out but the rain kept washing it away. : ( I will try with a new spinosa and not have it in the beds, will keep it in a pot out of harms way. Funny how the slugs show no interest in the other ones.

put crushed oyster shells around the plants about 3/4 inch thick. and 1inch wide even 2. I do this with all my plants hosta's strawberries et. slugs can not crawl over the shells. I have been doing this for years and have found it to bethe most successful slug abaitment.

Cynthia, is there a problem with salt content using the oyster shells? If not I'm going to get some oyster shells today.

Too bad about the slugs, but this gives you the excuse to get some more plants!

I've never even heard of most of those - can't wait to see how they turn out.

Does some one need to hand Terri that brown paper bag to breath into again? Whistling I just love springing new things on her. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing She is such fun. Group hug

I know Jacki, but some times we have to just hold our chin up and do more plant shopping. I don't think I need excuses any more at this level of addiction. Whistling
Most of those will be brand new to me, I sure hope my order goes through. I tried last month but he said they were still dormant. Keeping fingers crossed.
Believe me when I say 'I will be taking photos as soon/or if they arrive. You all will be the first to see them.

I plan on ordering some this coming fall when he gets new seed. I will also probably order more plants that he didn't have available this spring. He said he may have them this fall.
