That is probably the problem Tabby, these were on my covered deck to get them to grow roots (they had none). I have since moved them into sunshine. Will see how that goes. Wonder if I shouldn't just set the containers in the raised beds like Chris does with hers. I really like the way that looks.

Twit if they keep growing like this I just might do that. Thumbs up I might even sink the larger round pot partially into the soil of the raised bed. Maybe put a piece of crockery under the bottom so it is not actually touching the soil, for better drainage. I'm still going to make starts in small pots of each one, to keep on the covered porch over winter.

Chris at the rate these are growing they would take over the bed. Blinking

Hi Lynn, Here's an image of Orostachys fimbriata that I got from Mesa gardens. The second pictures is a plant I received from Shoal Creek Gardens labeled as O. spinosa. I believe it is O. japonica. I'm in love with both of them. Curious to see if they blossom. If you find any other sources for this genus, let me know.

Mark when I get home I'll take some new photos and post them.
I agree, the O. spinosa in second photo doesn't look correct. I have one that looks very similar will post photo when I get home. : )

Both beautiful Mark, but I LOVE the color of Orostachys fimbriata. Are they hardy in your zone?

Thanks Lynn. I supposed I should wait until Spring at this point. They may not get established good enough any more this year.

I'm not sure about that Chris since I got my first ones last year in Oct. I thought I lost them all as they shrunk up to nothing and seemed to disappear. Come spring and warming weather I saw tiny specks coming to life. I was truly amazed by them.

Rolling on the floor laughing and I can't even say it! Don't even know what "it" is, except it's "prutty" Lovey dubby And, most likely, anything else you show, I'll only be able to lurk for just so long before my want list expands. Whistling

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing For you Faye. Group hug

Orostachys eburnifolia is growing up a storm. I am even finding tiny new plants five or six inches away from the main clump.

Do you think they came from seed? (The ones 5-6" away) Or did they roll over there?

They had to be transported, probably by the birds, while they were tiny babies.

Then I found this wonderful surprise growing amongst the Orostachys fimbriata (left side) with O. spinosa (top right of photo). At the bottom of the photo is Sedum 'Ruby Mantle for comparison of size. Remember the slugs ate all of the spinosa? Well they must have missed this tiny baby that is now growing.
