With the silly weather we have been having, though cold now and windy, my potatoes are showing green shoots, and the gooseberries have started to have buds on, and the raspberries have green leaves, hope we do not have rough weather to kill everything off like last year, keep my fingers crossed.
Have a goos day or evening. Group hug

It is bitterly cold here with the north wind so you cannot do anything but stay in the warm! No gardening as you cannot do a thing at 28F as you can imagine. Hope you are all well?
Lovey dubby

Sound like a good reason for a wee dram and some horticultural chat Neil.

In the 20s yesterday & back up to the 40s for tomorrow, then rain. John spread a batch of pine needles on an iris bed. It houses the miniature dwarfs which are more apt to heave.

Is that because they are short or did they eat some bad compost?

Genetic strains. We don't have many tall. since all our compost comes from leaves etc. fom our place it is yummy. I admit that I have not tasted it.

Saury *Blush* couldn't resist.

Seriously though are you using pine to achieve a corrected PH balance?

Dear Neil, I thought maybe you'd like to see our Christmas lights which Tony worked on for over a week. He built the shooting star... and we got first place in our Town lighting contest!!

We had that much snow that particular night... Tony says that I do a 'Snow Dance' so I can take my perfect picture each year. Maybe...

I do live in the mountains of Colorado, at 7000 feet, so yes, snow is expected! Actually, we are low on snowfall so far this year (uh oh, now we're going to get it...).

Sorry i have not been around much lately but we caught the dreaded flu bug off my nieces who most kindly gave it to us after catching it at school. The terrible winds we have been having had done untold dame to gardens everywhere trees blown down, fences ripped apart or torn down and plants destroyed it was heartbreaking to watch and to be in the middle of it all was scary. Scotland got hit the worst and the damage up there to gardens and houses was immense, then it moved down the country and we all got some of it. One of my neighbours lost his beloved Himalayan birch and a big London plane tree came down and crushed a car. Thank goodness nobody was in it!
Hope you are all well and warm?
Regards to all.
Neil.

Dear Charleen, lovely to her from you and yes I am still having tooth problems! It would be nice to get out in the garden but still that wind is evil and cold so much so it cuts through you like a knife. I so hope you are well and of course Charley who I hope is behaving himself? Be good and keep in touch.
Hugs.
Neil.
