Dear Susan, you are far too kind! I am lucky to have competed at Chelsea when I was at college and working for a big nursery in London. At college we won a silver medal the first year and a silver gilt medal the second, however when I worked at the nursery with all its resources I won a Gold medal which is the ultimate at Chelsea apart from a Gold medal and best in show which to get that you have to have two Gold medals. I am lucky as I can go to that and to Hampton Court which is the worlds biggest flower show but there are many more to see. It is a good job I know Chelsea so well as you can easily get lost there especially if you have been in the champagne tents! Rolling on the floor laughing
You really should come over and see it for it does impress most people and especially for the first time.
Kindest regards from a wind battered England.
Neil.
Happy Hogmanay!

Dear all, hope you are all well? I had an accident on Friday on my way to the Hospital to get my teeth done which hurt then and still does! I was walking down to the station in the road next to us and there is a garage that repairs cars, vans and trucks and someone had spilt something which I did not see on the pavement and I slipped went flying in the air and my head hit the wall then my shoulder and arms and my hip hit the ground. I was really dazed and could not get up until a man came over and with one hand sat me against the wall for a few minutes then picked me up like a rag doll and took me home which was kind of him. Now I am sore believe me and ache everywhere.

Wet, overcast and miserable her although it is not cold at 48F which is warm for us at this time of yea! They say it is going to get a lot colder over the weekend and even more miserable if that is possible. I cannot go anywhere anyway as I am not well after my fall so I can stay in where it is warm and dry. Normally we get snow in February now when it used to be at Christmas and January so I am not looking forward to that as I hate snow and ice.
My next door neighbour I used to look after died on Christmas eve and I really miss him a lot for we used to chat about most things and especially gardening for he loved it like me.
Keep warm and dry.

I got up at just befor 3:30 AM this morning and went make a cup of tea before the kettle had even boiled a massive headache hit me in under what seemed like a minute and I thought I was going to pass out with the pain so quickly went and sat down. Shouting for Sarah she came to see what was going on took one look at me and rung for an Ambulance except they told her that before they would send an Ambulance a Doctor would ring her and talk to her about what was going on, another new save money scheme by the Government. The Doctor rang up and was going through things with Sarah and then sent an Ambulance when he found out I had hit my head. The Ambulance crew were brilliant and put me through all sorts of tests to see which Hospital I needed to go to as they could not find anything too serious with their equipment they took me to Lewisham Hospital which is an awful place instead of Kings which is a great place. Got there just before 4:00AM and the Ambulance men signed me in with the nurse in A&E, two and a half hours later I was still sat there in the cold and had not been seen by the nurse let alone by the Doctor and there was only two of us in there. Finally one of The Ambulance men saw me and asked if I had been seen yet so I told him NO and he looked a bit annoyed and went to see the nurse who was wearing jeans a sweatshirt and training shoes! She came out and called my name and did the same tests they had done in the Ambulance and said she thought it was a bad headache and I needed some Co Codamol which she could not give me only the Doctor could and told me to go sit outside. I waited another hour until I went back to see the nurse and asked how long before I could see the Doctor as my head was killing me, three maybe two hours she told me. I really had had enough by then so told her and left to get home as I have them tablets at home anyway. What a complete waste of time and effort!
The Ambulance people were great as usual everyone else was useless. The young man I was talking to had a suspected fracture in his leg and had been there 5 hours! He had a complaints form and was telling me he was not going to put it in the box they have there for the forms but was going to send a copy to the Chief Executive of the Hospital and the Original to our local Member of Parliament as he was horrified the way he had been treated. It was freezing cold in A&E and they had not even given the poor young man a hot drink nor did they offer me one so I went across to this little cafe place and got two cups of tea which we were both grateful for although it did have a sign up saying do not eat and only drink a little water. They should try sitting in the cold in pain thirsty and hungry and see if they like it! Although it seems it is not the staffs fault as they do their best it is poor management that has let this place down. In the UK we have independent inspectors that go to the Hospitals and check every bit of them for cleanliness, staff uniforms, staff traing, food everything and they award stars for each thing then add them all together and give the Hospital a final award 5 being the highest bit like a Hotel really. Guys for the main Hospital and the Dental school has 5 for each, Kings has 4 for the Dental School and 3 for the main Hospital, Lewisham Hospital has 0 for both bits, I rest my case!

My Dear Friend Neil, I know you are no shrinking violet, so at this point I cannot understand why you are not demanding an x-ray or a scan of your head! I also cannot believe that you would not take as good of care of yourself as you would any of your friends. I am furious with the way you are being treated, and also a bit furious that you are not standing up for yourself. Perhaps it is because you hit your head? Can Sarah help you with getting to a good hospital and getting some real information on what is going on with you?

Dear Brenda, they claim that if anything serious was going to happen it would of by now and I would be seriously ill. They know I have banged my head as they can feel the lump on it but they told me that it may take months to let your brain settle when it has had a bang like that. I have asked for a X ray and a scan and was told if I had a fractured skull I would know about it and I do not need a scan for the same reason as above. They wish for me to go and see my own Doctor once a week so she can check on me which I have agreed to do. I could go to Kings College Hospital but as the Ambulance crew told me they would only do and say the same. If my GP notices anything strange she will send or take me to Kings as they have a Neurology clinic there whereas Lewisham does not. I can only do what I am told to do and rest and do not push my luck by trying to do too much.
Thank you for your concern though but I can do no more.
Regards.
Neil.

Prayers for you, Neil. We are all upset, but of course can not help. Like your Mom's flower. It's name always sounds like a bad disease.
