I just harvested some Ageratum, Hawaii blue seeds. I'm thinking more will ripen in the next few days so I should be able to offer it in the swap.

I also harvested 1seed pod of Salpiglossis. There are more pods but they don't seem to want to ripen. If they do I'll offer them also.

I saw a Daucus Carota in there ,
Here a cultivation technique play with a wild plant of mine .
If the stem (stalk would of been red , I would have a better chance of a red one staying or returning

Pretty Jim. I'm amazed I let the Queen Anne's Lace live. I'm usually ruthless. In the Spring about pulling up weeds. I must have missed it last year too. I'm glad I did though! I think my neighbors think I'm crazy though for watering that tall weed!

Queen Anne's lace is a good companion plant in place of carrots for a few types of vegetables, according to a companion planting guide I was referencing (might have been the Wikipedia one?). There was one, in particular, that if you couldn't let your carrots go to flower, they recommended using Queen Anne's Lace, instead, but it doesn't help much if I can't remember which one it was, does it? I think it might have been beans, but I'll try to remember to research it and write it here if I find it.

DnD That is interesting , I can't hardly get carrots (or any other root crop to grow well here ,)
I know a bunch of people (including me ) If queen anne's lace pollens , it is sneeze time ,

I like the wild plants , Because Bees and Butterflies , and Dragonflies all do , Makes a little more interest to the garden , flowers , and wildlife ,

Okay everyone, I've just added a bunch of new seeds and added pics for all the daylily crosses. There is a small chance that I may add more seeds tomorrow. But for now, this is it.

I think we might have been uploading the pictures around the same time this morning, Elena. Shortly after I got done with mine, I went through the full trade list and saw your pictures were mostly or completely posted. I like how nicely your pictures came out.

Hey ya'll!

I'd like to say things are slowing down, but they are not. I'm getting excited about the swap and staying busy now trying to get all the seed packets done. Sadly, no time to make them this year so baggies it will be. Sorry folks. I really like the paper better but really no time this year. The garden is winding down and the lima beans have come in today so I'm doing double time trying to harvest those plus shell and get seeds from other things. It seems a gardeners work is never done, lol. I am glad to finally be towards the end of the veggies. Just waiting on a few peppers to go red and that'll be it for the year.

Suppose I ought to go get some things done. Just wanted to poke my head in and say hi before friday gets here.

Hi, Karen! Glad you checked in with an update. Moreso, I'm glad to hear that everything is working out well for you!!

By the way, it occurred to me that there might be some use in having a way to, either discretely or publicly, let other swap members know which of their seeds appeared to have high/low germination rates. I don't want it to turn into something where anyone feels guilty or responsible for their seeds not germinating well in someone else's yard because my intention is the opposite: I don't want anyone to throw away 'old' seeds thinking they are no longer viable when they are.

I know Rick has a bunch of older seeds that I suspect will still germinate (I just recently planted some and I'm pretty sure I already have sprouts from some of his seeds, but I can't confirm yet), and I think I have seeds from a few other people that are atleast 2 years old that I think will still germinate, too. I know many of the seeds I purchased in 2013 still have really good germination rates (particularly because of the way they are stored, I think).

I'm just not sure how it would work because the swap would, obviously, be done before you could comment on how well the seeds from that swap germinated. I know we were still hanging out in the threads of the last swap for a long time after it was done, so any post-swap threads we created would still have a following, I'm sure, but is that the best way? Did you guys like the 'Results' thread and did you find it informative, fun, or otherwise useful? Should we focus more on commenting on which seeds germinated well and who they belonged to? ...or maybe everyone is just content to try it on their own and not be influenced by the success or failure of germination that other people have?

What are your thoughts, everyone?
