Oh beware! Growing seedlings is the OTHER half of the daylily addiction ....and

....it is currently only $20 to name and registered a seedling.

....it is often a surprise as to what you get in the way of blooms.

....and it is a great hobby if you have the time and room.

Just a cautionary warning, Vickie! Rolling my eyes. Whistling Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

This seedling from (Calico Spider X Milady Greensleeves) bloomed today. Another pleasant, but not special, bloom. It gets some credit for even blooming, I guess. It's one of upwards of 50 seedlings growing in a black nursery pot. Probably way upwards of 50 at that. Sad It'll be lost in the crowd again after the scape is gone.

Here are my two seedlings that bloomed this morning:
There is nothing about the bloom I like on the first one. The second one I am finding a little interesting.

I am so enjoying the seedling show. It is so interesting to see what comes out of a cross and everybody has such nice ones.

Thanks, everybody for the kind words! I am excited about finally having seedlings. And @beckygardener, that last one with the wide watermark is my favorite too Smiling I have to curtail my seedlings. I still have hundreds of seeds in the fridge with no place to go with them.

Fred, (EMMAS CURLS X LILLIAN'S VAPOR TRAIL) X CARNIVAL IN OZ is awesome! Hurray!

@spunky1, Fred, thanks for that kind comment, much appreciated! I think they're special too, to be honest, but so much here is so gorgeous I am humbled. And I don't feel I did that much, just put seed in ground and water it, wait a couple years. LOL! (well there was transplanting involved but still.)

I totally agree Vickie! The seedlings are just fantastic and the parentage/offspring is just fascinating.

Y'all are sharing some fabulous seedling blooms! I am so impressed with what everyone is growing! Wow! Keep those photos coming.

Blooming has slowed down here. Now to see if any are late bloomers or will re-bloom for me!

That's all there is, some just do more seed but, the overall process is the same(hurry up and wait) I think anyone that waits on there first seed to bloom has accomplished something they never imagined they would do. I only show the better seedling here, no one ever see's the thousands that are destroyed each year.

I selected these two yesterday, reblooming on great scapes.
