You can sure see the difference between the two sedum with the bloom colors. Neon is well named. How tall does your get Tabby?
Does Autumn Fire get as tall as Autumn Joy?

Neon is pretty short - the same height as Brilliant. It's just like Brilliant, only much deeper flower color.

Autumn Fire is indistinguishable from Autumn Joy until it turns a deeper color. I wonder if it is a sport or seedling of Autumn Joy.

These are 3 I just bought. The big one is Sedum Moonlight Seronade' The other 2 are Sedum Sieboldii'. Both of these little ones came with the same name but look very different. Anyone have any idea why?

Wow, you have a bunch I haven't even heard of, and I thought I had a good variety. But mine are mostly older varieties.

On the Sedum Sieboldii's, the one on the left looks correct, I can't tell about the one on the right.

Chocolate Drop looks like it stays nice and upright, instead of flopping like Purple Emperor.

Good to know. I have seen the one on the right alot. Its variegated with cream in the middle of the leave. Looks like it has the same growing habit. I think my 'choc. Drop' needs more sun.

Do you have trouble with the red leaved ones not growing as well?

They all do well for me. I think I must be in the perfect environment for them. Dry, lots of sun.

Oooh, you have the variegated form of Sedum Sieboldii. I don't have that one yet, but plan on getting it next spring.

I'm with tabby on the Sedum seiboldii. The one on left appears to be correct. Can you give us a better photo of the one on the right?
Thumb of 2011-09-28/valleylynn/6a7664

Sedum 'Chocolate Drop' I am finding this one stays upright if given enough sun, it also seems to have deeper color in full sun. Or it might just loose the deep chocolate color as the summer progresses. This is my first complete year with it, so I'll have to pay more attention next year to keep track of the color changes. Think I'll plant some in full sun and some in partial shade to see.

Spring I love your S. 'Thundercloud'. Think I will have to get that one next spring. Lovey dubby
I had not heard of the Party series until you posted it here. Thanks so much. Hurray! Here is a link to the complete Party series. http://www.terranovanurseries....
I love their leaves in all three of the series, really love what they say about the growth habit. Lovey dubby

Found some interesting history on S. 'Samuel Oliphant'. http://www.casertanosfarms.com...
From another site:

Kindly note that as this plant grows and matures an occasional newly sprouted section may not carry the special coloration. If this occurs you can simply remove that part of the plant at the crown level.

**This plant is so special that it is protected by a plant patent. Only qualified growers are permitted to offer it. Asexual reproduction is strictly prohibited.**

Boy did I learn a lot this morning. Thank you so much Spring. Thumbs up

Yes, that is were I ordered from. If I removed the affected growth there would be no plant left. Funny! Anyway don't order it because I did some further research and places have discontinued it.
Have any of you seen 'Diamond Edge' sedum also a sport from matrona. I have searched for years for that one and had 2 local nurseries looking. Found it at some New York small nursery but they would not mail order. Crying

I trip to New York I think would be out of the question. Don,t even know were that was now, too long ago. It will turn up I'm all ears!

It is one that was sent to me last year. It really came into it's own this year. I think it is ready to put out into the perennial bed next spring.
