Yes it is a pretty plant, I got it from a company here called Bloms and their plants are always expensive, tiny things too but I liked it so had to have it. I kept some of their catalogues for years, but comes a time when you have to chuck them. The flowers were very pretty too, it's a case of out of sight out of mind but I wish I had rescued it sooner. Rolling my eyes.

Yes it is good to see and be encouraged, without sharing our efforts we can too easily get lazy about things.

I love the starry yellow flowers on Ogon, now I do need some ground cover.... Big Grin

Big Grin Ground cover is good. I know it goes dormant in winter. No sign of mine yet, hope it's because it's just not ready to wake up. Crying

Actually I searched for Ogon here and couldn't find anyone selling it, but looked in the RHS Plant finder and found one nursery which doesn't necessarily have the plants listed. They do have a very good selection and I was going to order from them one year but they only do mail order over winter, and cut off early when I wanted to order as the plants were growing! Rolling my eyes.

I never did order from them, but now might look into it this autumn.

Do you know what sort of conditions it likes? I have sandy soil with not a lot of sun, and very little heat too.

I would have thought yours would be showing by now if it was still in this world. Sad

My Coral Reef is showing now, it's later than the tall varieties. No sign of Ogon yet. I'm really afraid I would not be the one to ask about Ogon. Crying
I do know that it needs very good drainage. Maybe if I put it in a container it would do better. I get the feeling it is not as drought tolerant as most sedum. Hope to get it figured out this year. Will keep you informed on my process, or lack of it. Sticking tongue out

I got a pic of my Variegated tall sedum coming up though the tulips. I didn't get a chance to pinch it today but I will very soon. There seems to be a good bit more of it this year. Must have just needed a bit more time.

While I was at the nursery this morning I checked out some tall sedums to see what they had. I was in a bit of a rush so I didn't get a real good look. I think there was a Neon and something else that had a rather dark leaf and stem. I'll be back up there again and see what else they have. We have several good nurseries in our area and now that you all have opened my eyes a bit more to the different varieties I will be looking for a few different ones.
Just a little closer look.

I got a pic of what I now know to be fully titled as Sedum alboroseum Mediovariegatum, but the stock pic shows very pink flowers. I'm sure mine were nearly white with a touch of pink. Stock pics are usually not like the plant in reality, here's Bloms who are still selling the same one,

http://www.blomsbulbs.com/products/20-Spring-2010-collection/216-Sedum

The 'alboroseum' sort of suggests white to pink flowers!

One of my poor little things...which were no bigger when I got them around 10 years ago! It will probably change a little as it gets bigger.

I agree with you Janet, many of the photos feel like they have almost retouched them for color. : (
Most sights do however give the description of white with pink tinge. The foliage also gets more intense color as summer weather comes on. It is such a pretty plants.

I couldn't find that one in your Database Lynn, when it gets bigger I can add some pics.

Sedum alboroseum is a synonym apparently, the full name is Hylotelephium erythrostictum 'Mediovariegatum'.

I'm not sure if the colour will get too intense here unless we get a lot of sun. Rolling my eyes.

I see my confusion now Janet. There is another with mediovariegatum in the name but it is a sieboldii form. Here is a link to the new entry for your plant.
http://cubits.org/sedumandsemp...

The sieboldii is low growing and has dusty rose colored blooms. http://images.google.com/image...

Yes I thought the other was different too.

Maybe I had better wait until the plants grow a bit before putting in pics, at least the entry is now there. If I happen to forget give me a shout.

I like sieboldii too.

Your picture is great, it shows it at the beginning of the growing cycle. That's good so people will know the diffence in seasons. Be sure to put the date with the picture. Thumbs up

Aha, I found Coral Reef!

I have a patch under an Oak tree which gets a reasonable amount of sun but also is very dry for a lot of the year. I think I need Sedum there as these are drought tolerant. This one says it has pink flowers.

Coral Reef

I saw your pic in cold weather, nice colour!
