Lynn,
As it ages it turns pink. I'll show you when it does.

Here's another happy surprise - I evidently used some planting mix from last year to pot up my caladiums. Look what else showed up!

Are those petunias? And they came back after winter? Maybe from seed? Wow again Chelle. You are getting a lot of wows out of me today. Rolling on the floor laughing Does that mean petunias would be another good prospect for winter sowing? That is an exciting thought. I like to plant the wave petunia along the creek so it cascades over the side of the creek wall. I did not do that this year. : ( The purple petunias have a wonderful fragrance as an added bonus. I usually don't do annuals, but petunias and nasturtiums are a must have for me. I love to eat the nasturtiums.

Yes to all of the above! These came from dropped seeds, but they're as easy as sedum to root cuttings from too! I did some of those at the same time I did the sedums. Easy peasy. Also rooted cuttings of sweet potato vine they are real easy and quick too. You don't even need rooting hormone. I just made a coffee cup of weak bleach/ water solution and dropped the cutting in there long enough to put planting mix in the pot. Worked like a charm!

I'm enjoying the visual in my head of purple petunias cascading over a creek wall. You don't happen to have a pix of that do you?

We eat our nasturtiums too. I forgot to plant my variegated leaved variety *gasp*, I can still do it! What's a few more things to water !?! Rolling on the floor laughing

No purple ones. I planted the bright red/pink ones. This is the only picture I took of them. It was just when they stared growing. I never even took a picture from the other side of the creek showing them cascading. : ( I had some of the purple ones in a container by the doorway because they smelled so good.

Those are beautiful! I don't have any that color. Do you have a pix of the creek? I can set the two together in my mind. Smiling

You have to be the first to see this awesome creation from nature! There are few instances that come to mind of a moment that has touched me more in regards to phenomenal eye-openers. Check out this photo, this is a photo! Not a painting! Look, the bottom of the bloom comes with its own duo of flowers! *Jumping up and down* & *waving hands madly!* Gee, it doesn't take much to excite me does it? Hilarious!

Single bloom of Plectranthus - 'Mona Lavender'. Hurray!

It's a member of the mint family so it's easy to root. It also doesn't require much direct sun so I'm going to root some and try to hold it over for the winter. If not, my local nursery will probably stock it again. Want a cutting or two before first frost or thereabouts?

I think I will pass, I really don't need any more plants that I have to bring indoors for winter. I will have to be satisfied with looking at pictures of yours. Look at all these wonderful pictures of them. Sigh. http://www.google.com/images?h...

Thank you so much for posting that link! I had the name horribly misspelled. *Blush* They are pretty aren't they?
I'm with you there. I let most of my indoor *experiment* plants expire once they rooted. Hilarious! Whistling I just get too busy in the beginning of spring.

I really struggled with the indoor plants this year because there were way to many. I will just stay with the African violet that was my mom's, several Adenium, my 9 orchids and the tender succulents I acquired this year. It all adds up. I just gave myself a headache thinking about the above list. Blinking

Chelle what a gorgeous bloom! Just shows that we really need to look closely to enjoy all the little things in life like those two tiny flowers on the bottom. Amazing!

I thought I'd already posted this photo, but if I did I can no longer find it.

This is what the 3" cutting turned into in just a few short months - the part in the bucket - amazing!

Second photo was taken right after I was aware that it had rooted.

My mom has a sedum with lime green (chartreuse ?) leaves that I must have some of, so guess what? Now I can!

Thanks again, Lynn!

Great job Chelle! It really took off. If you find out the name of the one with lime green leaves, can you please post it for us?

I'm going to get a pix of mom's plant and post it here. Maybe someone will recognize it and help us with a name. I've googled it, and haven't found a match yet. Could it be possible that it's lighter colored because it's lined with crushed limestone and probably has very little nutrients available to it? I've noticed that this clump doesn't seem to get larger like the ones in the tended beds do. This one has at least two other plants growing in its clump, so maybe it's just starving.
(???)

Chelle, that could definitely have an effect - I've got lots of plants that look completely different in plugs with hardly any soil than planted in a garden with better soil.

Here it is....poor thing. It has a coneflower trying to grow in the same spot, and at least one iris.

Jacki - I'd bet that's it. Darn, I think it looks rather neat with the really light colored leaves. I guess I'll take a piece off, start a new plant and just see what happens. Can't hurt to try.

Me too!

I just bought 8 of the biggest, most beautiful globes of mums & 4 ornamental cabbages.......now I'm considering "planting" them in a wheelbarrow full of compost!

OOH! I have an old, dead rowboat.....maybe that'd work! Hilarious!
