After a few frosts , we are picking persimmons here

mmmmmmm, delicious! We call them 'kakis'. The flat ones, that do not get soft, we call 'mankakis'.

No, Cinda, they are introduced species. If I am not mistaken the one that produces the flat, firm fruits is originary from Japan. Bothe kinds are well loved in Chile and many grow them in their garden, because of the beauty of the leafless tree with orange fruits in Autumn.

I love Cindy's kitty as well, Mika.

We had cloud cover on the 14th but last night the moon was still very bright. This is cropped. Just hand held, to chilly to mess with the heavy tripod.

I was sneaking up on my cat hiding in a mound of leaves with his submarine scope-like head above the mess -- surveying. As I approached he totally submerged into the golden colors...for two seconds...then he popped out at me. Even though I was expecting to be surprised, I still was. I was also surprised I was stable enough to even get a pic!

Thanks Char. I've got many leaves from just one tree -- Acer saccharum. We spent all day Sunday cleaning the leaves up, and that was only the 50% the tree let go of. We still have round two to look forward too.
