Meet my flaxen maned buddy...Rock. He follows me everywhere I go in his pasture. He loves to race my atv..kicking and bucking as we go through the pasture. If I am repairing the fence he is right there..usually digging around the basket on the atv with his lips. He will take my cap off of my head and rub it on the ground and then spit it out...all covered in horse slobber,....then he'll look at me like he's saying..Ha ha

He's beautiful!

Rock is GORGEOUS! And he sounds like a lot of fun too. I'm jealous!

I particularly love this photo. He looks like he's feeling a bit guilty for being caught in the act, and very mischievous at the same time. Like he's saying, "um....yes....I couldn't help myself.... HA HA HA HA! It's just so much fun! Now go wear the slobber-cap!"

Love all of your photos. Really nothing that spectacular to take in the city yet. Looking though.

Just wondering, I've noticed several gorgeous photos (especially in the photo contest) where the item of focus is on a totally black background. Does anyone know how that's done? I'm guessing the pics weren't taken in the middle of the night

I usually get the dark backgrounds by using a higher shutter speed than normal...I spot meter off of the brightest area of the subject and adjust from there. You do need the background to be shaded or at least not in direct bright light. I use manual mode when doing this also. Others may have a different technique.

Thought that I would add a few photos from my neighborhood. All of the stores and restaurants have security gates. Some have a picture or a design on them. Better to look at than the original blah color grey.

Hope that you enjoy what I see every day and that the photos are not boring. Had to redo the photos.

Wow. That first and 3rd photo are potentials for next year's photo contest. How inspired you must have felt watching that! Speaking of the photo contest, I have just spent 3 days trying to vote! First, I had to gold star my favorites, then come back and whittle down my gold stars time after time. And finally narrowing it down to 3 photos per category felt like I was betraying the the other photos! I wish I could take pictures like that! I think all of them are winners, can't wait to see the final results.

Too bad several great photos in the contest were not eligible as they had the persons name on them.

Wow! I certainly did! These are so beautiful. What a privilege to walk there when the stores are closed. Obviously some skilled artists in your area. Thanks so much for sharing!
