My Bletilla live outside year 'round in Zone 6 1/2 so I think your's will be fine. I grew them for years in Zone 8 in California - they became weeds. For some reason, I didn't take pictures of them while they were blooming this year. I have them planted in 5 spots (looking for the perfect location) - here are two:

Looks good. I can think of worse "weeds" to have.

That's some beautifully shaded lipstick on your little Cattleya, Jim. Daisy, I'll bet those bletillas were gorgeous, such healthy looking plants. My bletilla bulbs went into the ground, and did exactly what Lindsey's did - put up a few feeble little leaves and then disappeared, never to be seen again.

Pretty Catt, Jim! The lip is nice and showy!

My Bletillas got hit by a late frost this year and it put a real damper on the blooming season, but the leaves are fine and they will surely come back next year. I need to built a box which I can just pop over the stand when temps go into the twenties F. I had tarped them, but it was still too cold.

It's just fantastic, Lindsey and look at all those roots climbing out of the pot, too. Happy baby. I can't get over how similar it looks to Rench. Frances Fox - except of course it's blooming its head off.

Mmmm, rum punch with extra cherries!

Thumb of 2016-08-26/ctcarol/6219b2 Had to tie up Ansellia Africana to get most of it in the pic.

Den. 'Fire wings' still going and a new short spike blooming

For the sake of any new members that haven't seen it before, this is Gerberara 'Snow Ballet'
In the house Laelia purpurata 'El supreemo" X C. warneri alba 'Showoff' still looking good

Elaine.. I have Frances Fox.. And it's pretty .. But ( for me) it's only blooming once a year and the spikes are MUCH longer, towering well above the foliage. I love how this plant doesn't need to be staked, the flowers present themselves well.. And of course, this crazy repeat bloom cycle!
Jim it came from ODOMS..was a huge pot for $25.
Carol, your 'Snow Ballet ' is still crazy pretty after all these years! Is that Laelia cross as fragrant as it looks? Good job on reblooming L. gouldiana and being able to put a name to it... That's always gratifying.

Lindsey, The Laelia X has a mild, pleasant scent. Most Laelias don't have much, but the Catt. in it does, and Laelias do better than Cattleyas for me.

Beautiful blooms...I love them all but my faves are the Vandas and Catt.

I'm glad I waited before ordering it looks like Dr Motes has more for sale for FL residents.

Pssst...... the Gerberara /Collierara is actually Snow Ballet. It is the Hybrid name, not a 'Clonal Name'.

I think I'm going to go for one of Motes' sale packages of 12, but I have to hope they'll still be on sale in a month or so. I just don't like ordering any plants when the weather is this hot.
