SpringGreenThumb said:So far it's Liberty and Great Expectations I keep staring at. I hope the rest take my breathe away when they open up too.

😍😍😍.

Great Expectation holds it color all season. In the Spring it is hard to tell H. June from GE but by summer June has lost that bright yellow Great E. dose not. I finally purchased Liberty this year. I did not want to spend the big bucks for it and it never got any lower so I bit the bullet a purchased it last yr. It looks good now I will see how it looks this summer.

Ivory Coast is the top picture and Liberty is the bottom picture. Both stunning.

I have not yet seen June come up. Doesn't June have smoother leaves?
I've never seen my June have leaves as huge as the GE is putting out this spring. GE leaves are 8" long this spring.

Minute man is doing awesome. When I bought it there was only 1 single division coming up. 1 division turned to 5 on all three of my Minuteman plants.

Something seems wrong with my "Diana Remembered". It's leaves are bowl shaped. Like the inside is wider than the outside. Sighing! should I be worried?

Yes June leaves are smooth and looks like GE without the bumps in the spring.
This is what June looks like now.

Your "Diana Remembered looks like it might have gotten a little frost bite. Did you have a frost when the leaves came up before they opened?

Yes. It was a little more than frost. It was a hard wet freeze. It brought trees and branches down. If that's what is wrong with Diana it makes sense especially for her location.

GE wasn't harmed because it's 4 feet from the clothes dryer exhaust vent which keeps it warm on that corner from constant use.

I have another Diana down by the creek. It's sprout is bent over and suffering slug attack. It isn't progressing much at all. Why is it curling down instead of up?

Today I pulled some pots out of the ground and set them in full morning sun to stimulate growth. We'll see if this enough to get them to start unfurling some leaves.

Because the slugs have ate the leaves it does not have the outer leaf edge to push out. Once it gets growing good the bottom leaves will look funny but the rest will grow normal. Take some unused coffee and sprinkle around the hosta so the poor thing can grow.

I put both coffee and slug bate around all my Hosta. But not before a few were damaged. 😓😓😓

Here is an image of Great Expectations fall colors.

I had to show you this... See that GE leaf in the palm of my hand in the above picture? The leaves were not even larger than my palm last fall...

Just look at the size of the GE sprouting up this spring. A leaf compared to my hand. If this is slow growing I'm going to be astounded to see what the fast growers look like. 😍

I must have found GE's G-spot for growing.

Today I added Coral Bells "Forever Purple" to my hosta garden. I must say... this one has a much more mild flavor and I enjoyed eating one leaf. I am tempted to get MORE! Yummy.

And this pink one was yummy. The peach colored one slightly more tart.

Check out 'Berry Smoothie' and 'Fire Alarm' for some colorful heuchera! Two of my favorite ones.

I think foamy bells is another name for a heucherella. That's a pretty one!
