No, they don't die. They just send roots down until they find something to grow in.

I just picked out a few; mine are all grown in containers of one sort or another.

Some of you might remember the planted bark rounds I made for the clinic visitors several years ago. I have done nothing with it; I just let them do their own thing. Killer is showing great color while Sedum confusum peeks its nose into the planting:


Lentezon is packed in, mostly neglected for a couple of years.


Same with Rosie.

Wow Connie, they are all beautiful colonies. That 'Rosie' is a real eye catcher with that screaming color. Towards the end of May the 'Lynn's Rose Gold' should do it's big color show.
I do remember the bark rounds, and 'Killer' is looking quite happy.

Great colonies, Lynn as I expected! I remember in 2014, your beds first had the most memorable semp colonies that I had ever seen in my life.

Now Lynn what was the most amount of stolons you've had on one semp again?

Lynn, I know you have photo of that arachnoideum type semp with over 30 offsets in your Sempervivum 101 article. I tried to post the image but it puts my watermark name on your photo.

I saw that Sempervivum 'new rhumba' on the Sempervivum 101 page. Very interesting variegation. Similar to Aeonium big bang

Here's a colony of REALLY large semps. This is a seedling of mine that will go into the giants program. It has really unique coloring and size. These are last year's offsets from a mom that bloomed and are already 8"+.
