I don't like microwave "baked" potatoes. They never turn out as good as the oven bake ones.

Never thought of putting mayo in mashed potatoes. Have to try that some time.

MW potatoes make really good home fries, cook in the morning, slice and fry at dinner time. Drooling

Goat cheese is nasty.

I worked at the sale barn when they had sheep and goat sales. I was in the office and you could smell goats. The cheese tastes like goats smell. I've never tried the milk...........I'm afraid to. LOL

Sally, I read what you said about coating white fish with mayo before adding the breadcrumbs…ingenious! It does sound like a lot less of a mess and I'd definitely be willing to try it.

Vera, sorry you had to drink the powdered milk, we had to drink it as well. We could not afford to buy fresh milk, besides the corn flakes, we had large bags of puffed wheat to go with it.

Oh, that puffed wheat! It came in great big soft plastic bags like pillows and tasted like nothing. It's the only food I've ever had that had no flavour at all.
I have digestive issues with soy, and I dislike oat milk.

I'm not too keen on oat milk straight up, either, but it's fine for cooking and baking. There are other plant alternatives,
https://foodmatterslive.com/ar... almond being probably the most popular.

I haven't tried any other milks. I looked for a comparison chart and found one here, if you scroll way down.

Having my occasional middle of night snack of warm milk and mixed nuts.
Plant it and they will come.

nature keeps amazing me
My MIL used to melt butter and a little oil in a frying pan and dump the puffed wheat cereal in. She'd toast it on top of the stove and add a little salt and that was a snack, It was actually good. Kind of a prelude to the Chex mix with pretzels and nuts od the muddy buddy mix with cocoa.
listen to your garden

Yes, Kerry Gold is an Irish brand. They have butter also and probably other dairy stuff.

I think I will get a little fancy goat cheese at Aldi and see if it is as bad as all this. Hilarious! Hilarious! they have some with herbs or fruit on them?
Breakfast was a hard cooked egg and more delicious cooked spinach from my garden. Fresh spinach is probably all SO much better than frozen.
Plant it and they will come.

In a fancy restaurant, last time we went to one, which must be more than a decade ago, they charged $14 for little coin of 'chevre' (goat cottage cheese) between two undersized Portabello mushrooms.
My mother used to make it in an old pillowcase hung on the kitchen tap.

We had a nanny goat named Muci - a clever, contrary creature. When I was small, I used to drink goat's milk every day, fresh and warm from the milking bucket. Didn't have any problem with the smell - or Muci's either, for that matter.

I am getting extra antioxidants this week- daughter gave me 3 good sized beets and I'm the only one eating them, so, daily dose.
Plant it and they will come.

I just finished dinner. I have been eating my Modify Health delivery pre made meals these past few days. Mostly these are really small portions with some slighly more food.

Besides the Modify Health tray of food I have to make myself something more to eat each night as I am still hungry and need more food.

Also I don't doubt these meals are healthy as in good for you but they sure don't win any taste tests. Some are downright aweful.

All in all this was not a sucess for me.
