I've found that our usual grocery store is adding to the choices in refrigerated prepped meals or entrees. They seem like they'd be better quality than frozen. One I tried was chicken breast, fresh, stuffed with cheese and jalapeno. Easy to bake.
Plant it and they will come.

Our in town store has nothing. And frozen dinners are so boring and full of salt and presertatives.

I don't know if I will stick with this service but I will give it a try. I cook more in the Winter. Summer I just want to get something out of the fridge and eat.

And fast food is mostly off the keto menue. Can't even order a pizza or Chinese food with sticking to keto.

TK and Rira and all!

TK it sounds like your doctor wants you to eat like we should!

I was having success with my veggie muffins, feeling better, losing weight, not hungry!

You can find recipes online for egg and veggie muffins.

I had chopped salad kits that need eating and I am not much of a cold salad gal. I cooked salad 🥗 items in saucepan, spinach, cabbage, mushrooms, onion, celery, seasoning, take off stove, add beaten eggs, bake in tins.

Some recipes add several eggs, like 6 eggs. Mine were fine with
1-2 eggs depending on veggies.

I think they also freeze and reheat well. This week I put 2 muffins and piece of bread on toaster oven tray and heated all together. You can also add cheese to mix or sprinkle on top.

I lost few lbs and felt better!...

Until I got tired at work, after not sleeping well and found ice cream! Well tomorrow is new day! And it's work pot luck for monthly 🎂 birthdays! I will need to pay attention to what I eat!

I always pay attention to eating!
That's the problem! Sticking tongue out

Veggie muffins sounds like a good breakfast idea. I always struggle with breakfasts... So they're often skipped.

That or quiche if I can learn how to make it. Would love a good mushroom quiche. Not sure if the crust is too much for carbs though...

I recently found out I have a medical problem and my doctor wants me to avoid carbohydrates, fats and sugars. I'm also already vegetarian. Between the two, I'm struggling to figure out what to eat, so I've been skipping meals...

If you're type 2 diabetic, skipping meals is a bad idea. You should have something every 4-6 hours, to level out the blood sugar.
What degree of vegetarian?
We eat no flesh but do have eggs and dairy, which makes the protein requirement much easier to fulfill. We buy oat milk and free range local eggs; cheese and chocolate are the guilty pleasures.
Tonight, for the OG, I made a big salad. It starts with Romaine lettuce (I slice it in ribbons, for easy mixing) and usually includes red onion, cucumber, pepper, tomato and radish (Chinese, for preference, shaved). Salad dressing of choice in moderation. On top, any combination of: toasted peanuts or walnuts, toasted sunflower and/or pumpkin seeds, small cubes of tofu fried in oil and soy sauce, cubed cheddar and boiled egg. A better version is spinach salad with poppy seed dressing.
Moderation is the watch-word with fruit. Cranberry, blueberry and grape are preferred; the sweeter ones, a little at a time. I usually keep a pot-luck fruit salad going, topping it up with what's available.
Another benign treat is 2% yogurt pudding.
Whole grain bread is OK, one slice per meal; so are unsweetened cereals.
He's been keeping it under pretty good control for nearly 20 years.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.

The Meal Subscription plan I chose is from Modify Health. I can't wait but I guess I have to as my food should arrive here on Friday. Some places you can choose a day. This one they tell you when you get it. No choice. Once a week or you can skip.

I like the fact that all meals are gluten free, There are diet plan options so I chose the low carb one.

There were meal delivery ones that I looked at that were heavy in bread a lot. And grains like brown rice, white rice and quinia. Some protein on top of large portion of grains. I hate brown rice and not suopposed to have white rice, Also lots of wheat pasta. Pasta not for me.

Thankfully not diabetic. Something else going on.

I know it ain't the best to skip meals, but I'm also used to it. I've only eaten two meals a day for about 8? years now. So trying to do three has been a struggle. I never know what to eat early in the day. And especially now that I have to avoid so much, the classic bagel or toast are out.

As for vegetarian, I just don't eat meats. I'll eat dairy (except milk. I don't like milk). I'll eat eggs if they're baked into something, but I don't like them if they're detectable for the most part. Only other way I'll eat em is in quiche.

You beat me to it Margaret, I think you could bake a quiche filling with no crust, sort of a fritatta then.
Plant it and they will come.

TK make a frittata. No crust, all eggs and your choice of veggies and cheeses. make it like a bigger omelet in the oven. I'm sure there are scads of easy recipes you can find and fit into your diet plan.

Cottage cheese with fruit is a good breakfast option.
Or the Hungarian spread: cottage cheese creamed together with sour cream, finely chopped onion and paprika (you can make a tub and keep it in the fridge for a week) on toasted pumpernickel. Cucumber slices on top don't hurt.
For the OG, I sometimes make cheesecake: cream cheese, yogurt, maybe some blueberries, fake sugar, eggs, very little flour, on a cereal crumb crust. He nukes it for a minute to go with his oat milk.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.

Zoodles from zucchini also help reduce carbs! and add veggies!

Old Guy. Even older than me. He goes to bed at 9.
He's the diabetic with arthritis; I'm the hypertensive with lumbago. We have issues with food, sleeping patterns, hearing, memory, balance and energy levels.
I'm just glad we're living now, not in the Middle Ages.
