Glen-- Eye say your daylilies are gorgeous. Hope your tongue survives the tea! Sounds like a person or two may cause you to bite it. I wish I could make it to the tea, good food and beautiful blooms! I would compliment your hard work, it is well deserved.

Della-- What a beautiful flower! That is a job well done!

Bron-- Hope things smooth out for you. Your daylilies are so nice and vibrant! It is so nice to see all the coloring on Secret Garden!
Unless the eyes are really dark purple, most of mine just look like pastel self's.

Many blessings for joy in your life and successful gardens!

Della. Your seedling is very distinctive. Looks like it would go beautifully with other garden plants. Or just a clump with the pink and white, fabulous.

Glen. I sure hope u had some rain. We had a very heavy shower which topped up my rain tank but whacked some blooms.
This pot of T9 was knocked over so lucky the bloom was OK. Maybe it is PRICKLED PETALS or CREATIVE EDGE. But it is striking, almost glows. Has an overtone of gold/apricot which the camera doesn't capture. Thumb of 2016-11-01/bron/5e1c08 Thumb of 2016-11-01/bron/d898b5

HEARTS OF FIRE. Even Australian native plants had died there as it is so dry. But the 'boos and the cassias seem to have helped it along. Thumb of 2016-11-01/bron/28b222 The dead log is a wattle tree trunk that fell down and is still too heavy to shift. Last year a young koala ran up it after it reached the fence and heard the neighbour's barking dog. After they all came and looked they took the dog away.

Today I planted out a chungi bamboo which is a relief. Lucky the roots aren't deep as after a foot deep the shale was too jarring. I am going to put fill around it

Just finished cleaning up. Twenty-five people came to the morning tea. Food everywhere. Excellent. I will download the photos as soon as I have had a stiff drink and a sit down.

The morning was wonderful.

Well, 25 people came. It was good fun. But people like the selfs the most as usual. Orange, yellow, red and pink are the kings and queens. Sigh.

But everyone's enjoyment was tangible and I was completely chuffed to see them love the colors and the masses of blooms. My daylily garden is a little unusually, too, because I grow herbs, vegetables and fruit amongst the daylilies where edibles don't intrude on them.

Glen - Looks like you had a great time!!!

Do you sell or share Daylily fans to any of these folks? Or do they only come to see your beautiful gardens? I love the nice raised beds and all the other edible plants growing in with Daylily collection. Really lovely, Glen. Smiling Thumbs up

Becky, I bring them to the garden purely for the aesthetics. I do give away plants or let the library sell them for fund raising at other times.

That large raised bed on the left has 80 of my crosses flowering. I am going to have to do something with the ones that aren't good enough to go forward with. I am dreading it. I read somewhere on NGA where someone said they will never raise their hybrids in raised beds again. They said that when the time came the fans were extremely difficult and inconvenient to dig out.
