Stunning blooms Bronwynne!!!
Good to see the bloom on your Olympic Showcase. The parent clump is still struggling here. I might shift it again. It is such a nice gold. It is supposed to be resistant but the rust loves it too much.
My Full of Treasure, which reminds me of Green Mystique, is struggling badly at the moment. I think it is about the worst rust bucket I have seen. Pity - it has a lovely bloom too.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I love it too Vickie. It is a better size than some of the very small blooms I have. I didn't even take a pic of PAWN OF PROPHECY today. I will water it more.

PP varies from pale to darker orange, and the reddish halo is sometimes almost absent. I flowers well, but it is a bad ruster. I have some bee pod seedlings from it that should flower this season. Sadly they too look like being rusters. But I am curious how they will look as, being a Dip, the pollen parent is apparently likely to be something else.

Gleni said:Karen it appears to be some form of attack on the roots. The fans end up with the roots severed from the seedling and they fall over. They are big fans and not tiny seedlings.
I have replanted several. Interestingly, a few regrew roots and two sent up new shoots to the side of the dilapidated original fan!

Today I noticed a small fan of BEATRICE REINHARDT was horizontal. The top part came away as if the crown had rotted. 2 other small fans in the same pot seemed fine. Then I realised I may have pulled the hose across the pot. So I wonder if one of your early theories of the wind knocking the fan back and forth might account for your losses, esplly since some sent up new shoots.

I am behind with the daily daylily photos. I fell asleep at the computer last night and what I had done all faded away.

Just like BRAVE KEMO SABE which I think is finished for the season. Such a lovely bloom too.

Thank you Ginny and Vickie.
Ginny, you will have to wait for a placid period and I will write down my fertilizing program. I learnt all from NGA. Even so, Bron is being kind.
Two days to catch up on. I hate weekends on the island. The weekenders turn up and go all feral: mowing, whipper snipping and chain sawing. They prance around sweating and glowing in their fleeting moments of triumph over nature.

Two days behind. As the number of blooms increase the tasks - the dead heading, photography, crossing and recording - increase too. I try to start at 5am. Any later and my little native bees have taken all the pollen. Although, I notice that there is an increase in honey bees this year so I can blame them too.

Flowering first time ever in the garden, a cute swap with Bron.

Flowering for first time this season. ELIZABETH SALTER

Just some more photos.

It is trick and treat tonight. Halloween is catching on here. I have bought lots of chocolates in case children come knocking. The good bit is that they probably won't in this part of the island and I get to eat all the treats tomorrow.

Good luck with your daylily tea, Glen! Sounds like fun and I hope the weather is wonderful for you Smiling

Crazy Miss Daisy x Waves of Joy is looking good. I am partial to flat-faced and bagel shaped daylilies, so I really like the shape of this one. I guess that is also why Dragon King really appeals to me also.

Hope you get some trick-or-treaters, but not so many that you can't enjoy the treats yourself nodding
