If my bubbler works I might have some extra brugs as some folks sent some extras. Let me know if either of you are interested.

@Chantell I have never seen a bubbler system. Please let me know how it works out for you.

The temperature will drop to 30F tonight, so I had to let go of my big brug Maya Sad . Rooted cuttings today.

my Maya had finished its current round of flowers, so I didn't feel TOO awful when I did the same.
Plant it and they will come.

Life is "mind over matter". If I d
Donner--
It is always a sad sight to have to cut back a Brug in full bloom to get the cuttings. Been there--done that....also with a Maya....They DO grow huge
and bloom prolifically...Usually the biggest bloom flush is in October/Novemeber----IF there has not been a frost.

Sally--Taking hard-wood cuttings (as fat as you want) of a brug to root....
Use a Pro mix only---you can use rooting hormone on the stem you are planting if you want. Shove your cutting ALL the way down into the pot--
make the hole first with a piece of round wood--close to same size as your cutting...and just wait....
Keep just moist until you see new leaves emergingor do a gentle tug test--
Brug cuttings will be rooted in in about 2 -3 weeks. Then keep them under lights.
Good luck! Gita

thanks for the reminders Gita, that it more or less as I did. I remember you always saying the fat hard stems root fast. In fact they get little nubbiy things on the bark..maybe roots start easy there.
Plant it and they will come.

@Chantell a very interesting method. Brugs are so easy to root! I guess any method that provides even moisture will work. The article says this method saves space. It is true for those who can plant rooted cuttings outside directly. To me, the challenge is never the rooting process. Instead, it is always about providing them with enough light once they start to grow in my indoor jungle over the winter. nodding

Plant it and they will come.

I don't blame you!! I'm fairly certain I brought mine in prematurely!! Lesson learned for next year.

I don't quite understand why the egg carton part of the arrangement..and wonder how they turned out. GIta always uses the fat pieces, not skinny.
Plant it and they will come.

I think it's simply a space saver in that you're not using small pots/plastic cups rather making a bruggie table with the bottom of the cuttings being the legs. The cartoon (looks like to me) is simply a device to consolidate space. Confused

Or to keep them from falling all over the place. Plus, when you need to water, you could just put water into the egg cups and let it trickle down to the moss.

I think I'm going to give this a try for rhododendron cuttings.

I suppose. . Well, I put three cuttings together in one pot today, much more crowded than I would have, before seeing these recent things.
Plant it and they will come.
