Exactly! We are a "GARDENING" website, right? So light green would certainly be an appropriate, nice soothing color to represent NGA .....

Good job on the re-design, and I like most of it. Was even able to "customize" my page, which is pretty amazing considering I can't figure out how to update my Adobe Flash Player or Update My Browser.
The only thing that bothers me a bit is the amount of white space on the right (surely just a 'spacial concept problem' on my part). Feels like sleeping on the very edge of a king-sized bed with lots of unused mattress going to waste. I like to sleep in the middle!

Weedwacker/Sandy, yes, that's the green in the headers that I was talking about earlier.

Before, it was a rather shocking, nearly blue-screen-of-death blue. I had bad Windows flashbacks!

The sage green is so much more pleasing to the eye ...and doesn't induce panic like the scary blue!

Danita, I think I might have been too late to the party to see that.... confusing when things are evolving so quickly and you read through a lot of posts at one time!!

Just want to add congratulations to Dave and Trish for an amazing job. I'm old and resistant to change, but this one was fairly painless. The logistics of designing a website to be viewed on so many different devices - desktops, laptops, iPads, phones, etc. - boggles the mind. Kudos to you!

I love the changes!!!!! Can you give a thumbs up to the inspiration? Today's was beautiful!!!!

When you're on the customize page, you should see a list of sections on the left.

For row and column, think of it as laying out a veggie plot... you have multiple rows, each with 1 to 4 groups (columns) of plant or seed. Before you can plant anything, you need to decide how many groups you'll have in the row and then create it (dug a trench or bunch of holes)

Once you have your row, you drag things from the left column and drop or 'plant' them in the boxes in your new row.

@bonitin, that's two different things. The BB Code is what you saved on your former sidebar, now it's in the Menu bar and it's found in your preferences, called Custom Menubar. You can add additional pages you want saved on that 'link' in the Menu Bar. Some save frequently visited Plant info sites for working on the database here.

Scroll to the bottom and click on » Customize your homepage

I tried customizing the home page, but what I'd really like to do is to eliminate the parts that I don't care about. Not too crazy about the new look.

I had the same issue Linda. But I found out you can eliminate the features you don't want by not adding them from the dropdown menu on the left into the columns you created.

You can drag and drop anything that you don't want into that box labeled "Available for use: " that's located on the left.

For the fun of it, I just tried dragging every single thing into that box. I now have the tidiest home page on the block!

Ok. I'm back for a few minutes after battling with Apple, AT&T, and Yahoo but not really b/c Yahoo, contrary to their 'let's pretend we're cowboys and rope 'em in' facade, does not have tech support.

Just checking in here so I could repeat myself and say great job @dave and @trish and all of your worker bees.

But one thing I'm fixating on: can you make a good peach cobbler for us @dave?
