I was not too concerned with the neg. feedback which was very old. I was attracted to this seller because he had some bud builders. However I cannot verify that any are bud builders, except one. Not in our database and no one on threads has mentioned them being bud builders. He even has two brand new ones and there is no information on them at all, except he says they are bud builders! Rolling my eyes.

This seller is Mike Huben. He is a member of the Scientific Studies Committee and an adviser to the Daylily Journal, where he proofreads articles to ensure their scientific accuracy before they are published. If Mike says it is a bud builder, then I would believe it is a bud builder!

YaHOOOOOOo, I just won "Whale Tails" on the auction. If I'm not mistaken, it's from our own Lalambchop. When Michele was looking for one this Spring, I feel madly in love with it, but I just couldn't afford it then and it was way much higher because it was so scarce. So, I really feel blessed to have won it for $50. I mean really really blessed, so thanks go out to Leslie for offering it at this price and thanks that I was the only one wanting it at this time. I feel bad for Leslie because it should have been more. I'll be watching for more from her since I always like to get in at least 2 in a shipment.

Thanks Floota, Mike is lucky to have a good reference here on the Forum. If you say he is trustworthy then I will just take him at his word. I love his daylilies because most seem to be late blooming bud builders and that is what I was looking for. I think I got enough early stuff. Thanks for the information!! I tip my hat to you.

We made it through the storm with no power lost which is unusual for us here but I'm grateful. Cold here (30's) already so no garden work for a few more days. At least the rain stopped today and the sun was shining Thumbs up Indoor project time Big Grin

I was just running through this thread and noticed someone asking about Johnnyappleseed. I know John McIntosh and have traded plants with him and got nice plants. I think he had a delivery issue a several years back but I know he is taking the LA seriously now and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him. He is strong on Reed and Murphy plants and I got quite a few from him.

Oh dear, maybe I mixed up Mike Huben's name with someone else. I thought that Johnnyappleseed was Mike Huben on the lily auction. If not, big goof. I need to go back and check on this. Sorry.

Hi Julie(floota), I wonder over to your blog yesterday and truly enjoyed looking at all your photos. You are a very accomplished photographer. Mean Green is so pretty and your phot of Born to Run is stunning. Your grey cat is a photo copy of our 15 year old Munchkin. We got ours from the local vet as a 3 week old kitten. He was the so loving the first year but then, he became Munchkin!! He has only started asking for petting in the last 2 years. He goes in and out at will, his not ours, and he has always ruled the house. We had 3 dogs for about 5 years of his life, and he was boss of them too. Now, we only have one dog left and he has decided that he wants to lay curled up next to the dog. Our old dog, is so understanding, but he's like "Munchkin, are you going to bite me or love on me?" It's always been a toss up until recently. We've had a new cat show up last year, he came like all our dogs, just showed up one day. He's orange and looks just like a Maine Coon. He's huge, where our grey might weigh 7 pounds, the orange one(Red Willie) probably weighs 20 pounds. Our little Munchkin cat beats the crap out of Red willie whenever the urge hits.

Of course they are both fixed, that's the rule in this house, but they still ocassionally have quick spats. We love all our babies.

I wondered off subject, as usual. Again, your site is so great!!! Mona

springcolor was asking about you, I happened to see you first. Glad everything is good with you, I hate that the temperatures are dropping so quickly because of all the people without heat. Now there seems to be a shortage of heating oil and I hear a rumor of a nor'easter.

Love your blog and the fact that you are in Va. is great inspiration. Love to see what does good in this area. Green Grin!

Congrats Mona Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Even though I already got one I was going to bid on it, but then I saw that you did and I didn't. I figured if someone outbid you then I would jump in. I'm really surprised no one else bid on it.

Teresa, Our Maine Coon kitty started visiting with us last Spring 2011. After about 6 months, he started staying around our place most everyday. Of course, we had to feed him and this encouraged him to stay. He was beautiful then but he loved to fight other cats. After we decided he had adopted us for sure, we took him to be fixed and started keeping him inside as much as possible. He loves to be held and rubbed but then he wants down to do his thing. If I was a guessing person, I'd say they would be very loving if raised inside from the kitten age. He has adjusted real well to being with other old "tom" cat. He allows our older cat to boss him around and he's out weighs the old cat atleast 2 to 1. So, he is very social and he loves our old dog. Sometimes outside cats don't like dogs because they have been chased, but he's adjusted really well. He did have a few times of slapping our dog when he first came, but a few swats with a loose newspaper(not rolled up hard, just loosely rolled) immediately after he slapped our dog, broke him from that habbit. He is very smart. He learned the no biting or scratching momma very quickly and he hasn't done that in ages. So, I'd give them really good marks.

I did go to several website about the Maine Coon and read about them. It's very interesting to know their traits. I just did a google search and found loads of info.

Thanks Michele, I was really sur prised to win Whale Tails for that price too. I love it and it's all your fault!!!! Atleast I'm leaning more to working with these eyes now, than just buying every plant I like. Do you have many other Hansen? If so, do they grow good for you??? I'm seriously thinking about getting more of his for Spring. I love his fall intros.

Mona, I have some of Dan Hansens and they do well here. From his fall 2012s I got MADAGASCAR MARTY (which has Whale Tails as a parent). I have several of the spring 2012s because we bought those for the club auction we hold; YANNI is the main one I wanted from those.

I had to go back to see which one is Yanni. I've been a fan of Yanni the musician for years. In fact, his is the only CDs that I've bought in forever. When I need a pick-me-up, I can usually listen to him and it really helps.

The daylily is pretty, too!!!Looked to see which one was MM and that's one of the ones that I reallly really want. It's awesome. I also like Gaurding Gnomes and Ladybug Hawk and about 6 more of these. In fact, he has the prettiest eyes that I've seen so far. Some of the others have 1 or 2, but he has a bunch.
