Here's another one from the Brazilian Art x Glamour Pants cross for your observation.

This one looks good. It has nice clean colors, good form, enough ruffles..... even a lighter edge around the falls. This looks like it could be sold by all the vendors. It does not have as much drama as a few of the others you have created and posted above and I do like drama.... in an iris bloom.

You're right Niki, like I said, nothing outstanding really, but a few with some traits to work with.

Here's the last of this cross to bloom. This was a real surprise for me to see these colors from a cross of Brazilian Art x Glamour Pants. I wouldn't have expected this. The beard is more choral pink then red as it appears in the picture.

Love the last one and especially like the beard color on your short one! Many of my TB's bloomed out of sequence and shorter / smaller this last season.

tveguy3 said:I had 3 seedlings bloom with short, SDB sized blooms this year. I also had several named irises do the same thing, so I don't know what caused it. I kind of like the colors on this one, but will wait to see what it looks like with a regular sized bloom. Did any of you have this happen this year?
Seems to be trying to have a bit of ruffles. This is a sibling to the one above.

Love the color. The beard is a real keeper.

I too had some TB's that looked like petite versions. Wearing Rubies was perfectly formed but about half its usual size.

If those are the true bloom colors, absolutely gorgeous seedling (last of the 'Brazilian Art' x 'Glamour Pants' cross)! Sticking tongue out
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

The bud form isn't the best though. I did make a cross on it and had a seed pod growing but absent minded me busy dead heading didn't pay attention and took it off, pod and all. Some days!

Here's one you saw last year, I still like it so it's still here. It has the lightning streak down the falls. I have seeds from it this year to try. It's a Gypsy Lord x Can't Touch This cross.

The short one with the red beard is my absolute favorite. It's different and the colours are bold but harmonious. Hope it blooms normal for you next year! Crossing Fingers!
