Ahh yes, I see what you mean. I was basing my ID on the spotty blotch on the upper petal of your linked image where mine was a more solid color blotch but not entirely solid colored like the one I linked. But I also based it on the one you linked having that lower petal looking almost white compared to the two side petals where mine have the same colored petals all around.
But there can be so many variations in any strain, I see it all the time with these little violas. That's how I pick them out at the nurseries, find the one oddball among the trays of plants! Thumbs up

I searched for "pansy cornuta hybids" and found another with just that title! They generally go by the name of Horned pansies.

So what do you think, just move it over to the Viola cornuta for now? That way you can also delete the one incorrect entry finally and be done with this viola thing, I feel a need to go shopping for violas now!! Green Grin!

Yes I would move it to V. cornuta Sue. I can leave the deleting to you if you do the moving. Deal? Hilarious!

It's terribly tempting when going back over plants! I'm looking at plants I lost due to our last hard winter and I want to replace some as well as get more now! Rolling on the floor laughing

OK, I moved mine but didn't want to delete the entry until we can move over Valleylynn's comments.

Dave this entry needs to be deleted but before that is done, can you move over Lynn's coments to the link below please? Can those details be moved over there too?
Johnny Jump-Up (Viola tricolor)

Shoot, we could have deleted that tricolor entry completely and left the one with all the images and comment and just taken out the species name. Rolling my eyes.

Great, thanks Dave, now all Sue has to do is to move her pic. Hilarious!

Lynn's comment though is now not specific to Viola tricolor, it's more to Viola cornuta as to the native origins.

Well I sure flubbed all that up now didn't I?!! *Blush* My little viola wanted to hang with the rest of them for a while but has now moved on to the correct entry.
So should her comment be edited removing the reference to it's origin?

Lol, I think we are about there Sue! Yes it should be edited, Lynn's comment was more directed at V. cornuta but she also mentions V. tricolor so the bit about cornuta needs removing. Maybe I should leave a comment too! I uploaded some pics. Green Grin!

So maybe just remove it's country of origin? leave the rest?

Are the photos of duplicate entries automatically merged when a delete is done?

No, they either need to be proposed for a move or the name edited so that they stay. But don't worry, a delete is never done with images on them. We always try to find the right home for them. Thumbs up

Lynn! Hurray!

Could you edit out the part in Viola tricolor about being "Native to Spain and the Pyrenees Mountains."? That doesn't apply to V. tricolor but I think it may have to V. cornuta and the two were confused into one.
