I read where you are enclosing the sides on top. Will you be keeping hay in the top? Is there a trap door for the hay to drop through? or do you plan to throw it down the ladder area?

We will store hay up there, yes, and there will be access ports to throw hay down. And, I can use the stairs, too.

It's looking great, Dave. A good barn is a real blessing.

The windows came in yesterday as expected, and they are now installed and we can continue the project. The top walls are now all finished!

Sorry for the poor quality photo. It's drizzling and I was in a hurry.

Lower soffets will be installed today, and tomorrow morning we're putting up the metal on the lower roofs. 99% of the metal should be up by the end of this week.

The local metal shop is getting started this week on all our dutch doors. These are being custom made by a welder and I think you all are really going to enjoy seeing them when they are ready.

Oh boy! My kinda barn.
Green! I love the green.

Ummmm, Dave, will it have a guest room?
Just wondering.

And thinking about the sound of that rainy drizzle on the metal roof.

It just occurred to me that I never shared what colors we chose. Yes, of course I would need a green barn. It's my favorite color, and wanted the barn to match the pine trees that are so prevalent around these parts.

Well, if you consider cows, hogs, rabbits, chickens and other animals guests, then yes. Smiling Hilarious!

I just love that color. Hurray!

Sharon, it has a small kitchen, just take a sleeping bag and through it down in one of the stalls. Or up in the hay loft. Rolling my eyes.

Hayloft.
Not a problem. Even I can climb steps like that.
And I've napped in haylofts before, listened to rain on a metal roof . . . things like that. Smiling

Georgeous barn, great progress! Love the narrow windows, and the color choice too! That setting on the slope will make some beautiful beds one day. Thumbs up
Talking about the hay and loft brings back memories of being a kid and playing in the loft, chasing the chickens out the door and watching them fly to the ground! LOL!

The metal is going up quickly. Today the downstairs windows got put up, the door openings trimmed out, and the metal sheet for the bottom installed.

My guys just got started putting up the metal on the west wall!! Now it really is starting to look like a barn. Smiling

You can see all the doors and window openings, nicely trimmed out:

And the wall goes up!

I have to say, I love how the brown roof looks against that off-white trim.
