Maybe once I get the doors installed, then I'll take one final picture and try using that photo as the model for the farming badge.

Do it, do it! It will look lovely. And every time we see it we will think of your barn & the building of it. Hurray! Hurray!

Mark Bolton may be the best welder in town, but he's slower than christmas. We are still waiting on the doors! Blinking I'm starting to consider making temporary plywood doors so at least I can start using the barn while we continue waiting for the real doors.

lol, welders - Stan took a Bush Hog to the best welder in town 3 years ago and we haven't seen it yet. He's been up a couple of times and it moves in and out of the shop, but not yet done.

Seems like welding is a lost farm skill. Some of the old timers here used to be able to stick weld. Now their eyes aren't what they used to be. It's a skill I've allways wanted to learn.

Stan does most of his own welding, but this was rather major and tricky and he just doesn't have the time. The Bush Hog was a smaller version of the monster that he and our son-in-law now own together. He picked up a stone with the old one and ripped a wound right across the top of the thing. Having the big one has put off the immediacy of needing the other one, and we know the guy, so he'll wait a bit longer and see if it's done before he has time to do it.

Hmm, did that cow badge change colors?

My hubby took a welding class through our local community college. It didn't cost a lot, and was 2 nights a week for about 9-10 weeks. It wasn't long before it had paid for itself.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
