Deb... I remember being on one of the San Juan Islands ... many years ago... went out to see the concrete sail boats they were building there... the thing that was amazing with the wild life there ... was looking out over a large field... and as I was watching... the entire landscape of the field seemed to move and rearage it's self... it was a million rabbits.. still and quiet ..then all toogether moving about.. it was the strangest sight... and never before seen so many rabbits at one time..
what's with the armadillos... I never remember seeing them at mothers in north AL... now they road kill of choice.... they are everywhere..

Finally...very early today, I saw the doe at the wildlife area, probably drinking water. And a ways behind her, a fawn! So I got out my camera and probably near the maximum distance range for my lens (so as not to scare the fawn, I stayed far away from it), I got these shots:

Didn't see the second fawn...hope it's okay!

Raccoon baby, one of a set of three that seemed to be scrounging on their own. It found an empty can of catfood and just couldn't seem to leave it, even after I came outside.

Nice pic, Gordon...sometimes they try so hard to not be seen. Good way to survive! I just get just glimpses of this fawn from a distance. The mom is very protective. It helps that I have a really good lens for those distance shots.

Nice shots Gordon and Linda. I have quite a few spider photos and I find it interesting the way they watch me and move away when I get too close to them.

We have an abundance of deer in our town right now, we are seeing them almost daily, forget planting most flowers out the front.
At the neighbors across the street, out the back by our fence and resting on the lawn down the street in the afternoon.

It amazes me how bold they are. They know that no one can shoot them there in town.

Rita, that's true, they are also safe from coyotes and cougars, dogs are not allowed to run free so they got it made. nodding
