jvdubb said:Oh, you said you are in state. Does that mean they are in Ohio? Confused

Yes they are in Ohio

When I got my shipments the email said something like your order is ready for shipment, that was a day or two before. Then when they packef the plants and actually left their nursery I got an email with a tracking number.[/quote]

Thank you so much, I went back and looked at my email and there was a tracking number! I do not know how I missed it! I went to UPS.com and it had arrived in Va.Beach Friday morning! and it was put on a truck an hour later. Problem is I do not live in Va. Beach! I guess they could have a truck that goes to Portsmouth but he never made it to my house and they do not deliver on Saturday like USPS, so that is Bluestones mistake. For plants the USPS in the best because they keep the boxes moving and they do have the Saturday delivery. There have been no updates sense. So I am sure the box is still on that truck. There was no scanning Friday night for things taken back off the truck. Grumbling I have got to pay more attention to these details!!

Hmmm. UPS does deliver on Saturday here. This spring, I put in several rose orders with Edmunds Roses, and they send them via Fed Ex/USPS. I was pretty worried when the tracking said they were shipped on a Tuesday, and that they wouldn't arrive until the following Monday. I watched the tracking, and saw that they were here in town on Friday, with delivery still scheduled on Monday. Late Friday afternoon, a post office jeep pulls up and they give me my roses! They made a special trip out with them! Yay, post office! Our local post office wins awards for efficiency, and my regular person is terrific. She makes sure she brings plant boxes up to the door and puts them in the shade.
My order from Austin roses came as a surprise, and I wasn't here and wasn't ready for them. Chamblee Roses let you specify which week you want delivery, and they arrive sometime during that week. I really prefer ordering from companies that will send an email confirmation. I think every company needs to do this. It's pretty frustrating to find a box of expensive plants left sitting on a porch for a week, when all they had to do was send me an email so I could have someone get them. Austin shipped bare root, dormant roses in March, and they all look great now. Chamblee roses are potted and growing, and they came in April, and they're good now. Edmunds....about half still haven't broken dormancy for some reason. Their customer service is good, so we'll see later how that works out.
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.

I wonder what effect the post office closings is going to have on plant deliveries? If any? I just hope UPS charges don't increase.

Yes, I'm in Ohio but I'm in the opposite part of the state. I think that Bluestone is somewhere near Cleveland. When the plants go on the truck for delivery, it will say, "Out for delivery" on the tracking (at least it does for me). Otherwise it just says what places it is scanned for arriving and departing.

My local UPS is only a half mile up the road so if something arrives there by about 6 am, it gets put on a truck for delivery almost immediately. I feel a bit lucky about that.

I hope your plants arrive safely. If it helps, my plants came from Bluestone very moist and healthy-looking. I still cut the pots off but everything was fine. I hope yours will be fine too.

They were very dried out last time and two have sense died. I did email them and let them know and also I sent pictures. I thought all was ok at the time and did not bother to email them about the problem. I did not want a refund or new plants so I kept quiet. I had the same problem with the plants I ordered from Santa Rosa Gardens, they were dry as a bone but ok. I re-pot right away and water with a diluted Mir Grow solution. Usually works good but last time I lost two, just gave up on them two days ago. I am starting to think I should not order plants from Nurseries so far away unless I can get the 3 day shipping. Thumbs up

Bluestone did get my last order wrong. It was the first and only time they've ever sent me something wrong so I was really surprised. I've ordered from them for years without a single problem.

This year I ordered (among other things) two Eryngium Sapphire Blue but one of the tags says it is Eryngium Big Blue. I couldn't tell them apart and I had already planted them. I was concerned because I had wanted Sapphire Blue because it's sterile and my yard is too small to deal with excessive seeding of prickly plants.

I didn't expect Bluestone to do anything since I didn't call right away and I had already ripped the pots off and planted them both. It was my fault for not checking the tags before planting. But they were very nice and offered me a refund or two replacement plants in the fall (since they are currently out of stock). No need to send pix or return the plants. That was really nice of them.

I still hate their coo coo pots but now that I've dealt with their customer service for the first time, I can say that their CS was great.

I do not like the Coco pots either. The first time I ordered I did not know what to think. I sat one hosta on the patio and forgot about it. Later I found it had dried up and blew away. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
No problem, I got out my MG solution and watered it real good and it perked up quickly. I have never had a problem with Bluestone, also have never had to report a plant had died.
Well, it is 6:03 and I have seen no UPS truck at all. Earlier I was looking at the wrong calendar! The plants are supposed to be delivered today by end of day. Have not seen truck yet! We shall see, have not heard from Bluestone either. Mondays are busy!

Ok, I had to unpack my box and the plants are looking pretty good except the two I wanted the most are almost half dead. I am going to try and revive them. It was the 2 Clematis Piilu. I am getting ready to upload pictures.....stay tuned!

Here is the whole order from Bluestone, I admit I was looking at the wrong calendar, I forgot to flip it to June. The problem is that in my area UPS does not deliver on Saturday and that is why they are so busy on Mondays and I got my package so late. These would certainly have been beautiful if they had not set on a hot truck all weekend. It must have been raining when they loaded it because the box was wrapped in a plastic bag, so everything was still moist just slightly cooked. We were in the lower 90's on Fri. Sat. and Sun. today was only 81° so good day but it rained off and on.

Well not ideal but better than I would have expected. Bluestone will replace anything that dies.

I have gotten a lot of mail orders over the past few years and I am always surprised at how they perk up when you get them out of that box and water them good. I will keep you posted and probably take more pics next week to see the progress if any. Hopefully I will not have any more bad news for Bluestone.

Regarding the 'new' High Country Gardens....

I spent $209.31 for 3 orders.

I only received 2 plants (order #3). They were both Agastaches. One of them, had all the stems broken off the main stem when I got it and the other had one of the stems broken off. They both had a lot of soil loose in the bottom of the box (not in the pots). They gave me a refund for both of those.

Order #2 I didn't get. I ordered 3 Agastaches and Salvia 'Ultra Violet' and they weren't able to send them. They refunded those also.

Order #1 I ordered in early to mid February and was the majority of the money I spent. ($131.89). Was originally suppose to ship the third or fourth week of April. They kept postponing the shipment date, so I told them last week to refund the amount. I told them I couldn't wait any longer, since it's getting hotter and more humid here.

I'm still waiting for the full $209.31 amount to be credited to my bank account.

Everything but $83.94, $8.99 and as of today, $29.97 still has to be credited to it. Sad

Hopefully, next year when the have the 'bugs' of the new HCG, it will be better.

Yeah they will do better! The Green industry is not easy. They are not selling stuff out of a warehouse where every thing is boxed & and ready to shipped. They hire these kids for the season and they don't care.or they hire whomever work for minimum wage, and spoilage is a big problem. It take a while to get that together.
I am highlighting all my invoice with stuff that didn't make and ask them to replace my plants that didn't make it or they sent the wrong color!
And ship to me the beginning of the next season
