Ten days is a good rest for them. I re-pot almost everything and give it some diluted mir.grow water. This will help prevent any type of shock and get them off to a good start. If I receive bare roots in the mail like Hostas or Daylilies I will soak them in the water over night, then pot them the next day.

SO TRUE!! i MEANT TO PUT THAT IN THE BARE ROOT COOP INFORMATION.. Actually I use Super Thrive also.

Susan what was that stuff you use to keep the cats away and its good for the soil? Millo? I ordered some Ropel today. but its eight or nine cats out there.. I am going to call the city so they can get some welfare assistance. I just read its mating season for cats too, no wonder the males are sniffing around. Its only two females out there and they just had these kittens about three weeks ago. omg I am a basket case! lol
I got to call somebody about all these cats in my back area ... and now the Mama cats have bought their kittens. I cant get out the back door! Grumbling

Jeepers! Do you have animal control in your city? I would call animal control or PETA. Too much craziness for your own back yard. You should be able to have a garden and relax in your own yard. The name of the stuff I was talking about is Milorganite.

virginiarose said:I received my order from High Country Gardens, yesterday(02-23-12) and I have:

Caryopteris clandonensis 'Dark Knight'---8.49
Asclepias Tuberosa-orange butterfly weed---8.49
shipping--9.99
total---26.97

I do not understand how this could be a deciduous shrub, there is no stems and it just looks like a seedling. I expected something bigger and I am not sure why, I ordered this November 27, 2011, and if I had planted a seed that very day I would expect to have this, but I thought I was purchasing a plant, plant. Blinking
The butterfly weed is more like it, these pots are three inches wide but six inches deep, I don't know why they needed such a big pot, If they say three inch or four inch, don't you kinda expect it to be full of roots or almost full. This is a pot of fresh dirt and a freshly planted plant. I am disappointed to say the least, mainly with the shrub which is one inch tall. Glare
