Well, yesterday my usually early-spring "Surprise" Lilies (Lycoris squamigera) lived up to their name. Some of them are putting up the leaves already. They made it by the last day of February! Green Grin!

This morning it's 70ยบ already with severe storms and tornadoes perhaps headed our way. Glare

what is the height for Wrens/Chickadees? I have a small bird house that seems to be vacant every year. Perhaps if I move it, I will see some new residents this year.

I have been wanting to put up a bird house, can't figure where to put it. I am afraid squirrel will climb up there and take the eggs. Crying I saw him go into a nest couple of years ago, a very mad mocking bird chased him for blocks. She did not come back to my tree, who could blame her. Maybe I should not worry about such things. Hurray! I too have some pansies blooming that wintered over from last fall, and millions of Violas.

A few photos of whats wintered over ,none of the pansies ..Those are at work, where we plant flowers for them..I clean a Dental office and they have 4 oak barrels I keep planted for them, now I have LOTS of volunteers growing all around the barrels in the white stone that fills the small area between the building and the sidewalk.Dr Tim asked me,you didnt plant those,nope...He Loves how full and over flowing the barrels are,and the volunteers ...Wait till this year, many more to pop up in the stones with a little help from mee. Green Grin! Im turning it into pretty much a prernnial side walk Garden now...I love it soo much better now.. Green Grin!

Good question. Sometimes bird houses seem to just stand empty and others are used all the time. I always wonder why some are vacant like that and some not.

Well, birds have a lot to do in our gardens. So they are not entirely OT. Green Grin! Thumbs up

Wow, that barrel looks fabulous. It appears to be in a microclimate that makes it very happy! And good for Dr. Tim!

Yesterday was a beautiful day here with temps in the upper 60s, and I spent hours doing garden clean-up. I still have quite a bit to do but I did get a good start, very rare for this early date. Many perennials are starting to put up new growth, again very early here. My lilies are starting, as are some echinaceas, verbena, dianthus, snapdragons, gaura, sedum., polemonium ... I never remember all these things breaking dormancy so early.

I know what you mean Tamara. Very difficult to move today. I ache, and Advil is my best friend. Every muscle is protesting. Besides doing clean up yesterday, I also flipped the contents of both of my compost bins, so it was way too much for my first day of the season gardening.

Hilarious! at both of you! It's still breakfast hours! Whistling I might try frying up some turkey eggs, I wonder if they're tasty?

I'm itching to trim up the roses, but the Forsythia doesn't appear to be even close to blooming. Usually, I use it as my guide. Blinking

Whistling its 2:30 now and beer sounds good today... Hmmm might need to bring some home.. We cleaned up tree tops and limbs that my sil left behind after cutting some dead wood down, behind my shed and potting area..Glad it is pretty well cleaned up now.,had a huge fire..My compost needs turned...Im a bit lazy about it Sad Sad its a daunting task...i wish i had a sunnier location for it, an closer to the hose.

I had to keep reminding myself yesterday not to clean up too much yet...I did cut down grasses, wanted to trim up mums...I fought the urge.. I tip my hat to you.
