Janice, nice Show. The Eplc Greenbird 'Brilliant' really catches my eye too!

Pssst, the cultivar name always goes into single quotation marks as in 'Brilliant', 'Purple Waters', 'Elegance', 'Little Beauty' in your examples. I know it didn't catch them all right now, but I hope you get the idea.
The Hybrid names are written without any quotation marks, as in Baldan's Kaleidoscope. Your Cymbidium is Cymbidium Sweetheart 'Elegance'.

Laurel, I still didn't see the buds on your Pleurothallis striata, but Klaus filled his whole huge IMac monitor with your pictures and managed to point to it. Gee, Laurel!

Ursula, thanks, also. I will need further tutoring, I am sure, so bear with me. At this point, I don't know the difference between the cultivar name and the hybrid, but I shall work on that. Thanks for pointing it out...Have only had orchids for 5 months. All assistance is appreciated!

Are you near Asheville? The Orchid show is this weekend.
Let's see. My first orchids came from the Greenhouses at Reynolda Gardens in Winston, http://www.reynoldagardens.org
Some came from a NC grower who sells at Whole Foods.
The noid Phals came from Lowe's.
Others from various Ebay sellers, Santa Barbara Orchid Estate in CA, and Seattle Orchids. Those are the sources for the pics I have posted, but have used many other sellers. Got some beautiful Catts from Carter and Holmes here in NC in bud now. And Marble Branch in SC sent some good quality Dens in bud.

How many do you have, Janice? You may have broken my record!! My buying shoes may go on today since I'm off to Brattleboro and Windham Flowers. I bought a Phaius tankervilleae in bud in downtown Shelburne Falls to help me get past mourning for my attempt to save my big guy.

Laurel, you are a miracle worker! The more I try to save plants, the more I bow to your wisdom.

I've also decided to give away my seedlings that just don't get bigger. Spring cleaning.

Kathy, Phaius tankervilleae is one I have been admiring. Love it.
Around 50 now...reaching saturation level..... bought 3 Bakers racks for the little devils. When you start looking around your house for big windows, you know you are in trouble. LOL
