Stelis ciliaris - it's that time of year when I see the little dangling spikes shooting out.
To get an idea of the plant size, the leaves are just a bit longer than 6 inches.

Love that color. Happy plant too!
Is this the typical time for the citrata? Mine bloomed this winter sometime. Three little spikes have just started to emerge. My plant is in bark but the roots are above the bark line so I can spray them.

The first time this plant bloomed was in 2004 in February. But googling Aerangis citrata seem to point to a few links showing Spring time blooms. And Laurel's plant is blooming now too.

Such a pretty Stelis; both the plant and the flowers.

My Aerangis dropped a couple of buds as they started to swell. They were all closest to the plant so it doesn't show up on the spike. I was thinking that would be related to a need for very consistent moisture/humidity. I was told when I got mine that they prefer closer to 70% and try not to go under 60%. Perhaps that accounts for the different bloom times too. Mine's been spiking since November which seems like an awfully long time. Here it is today.

Also wanted to post progress on Epi. stamfordianum. Can't tell you how happy I am to see things blooming here after hanging around and watching you guys for the past few years! Enough of running into the orchid room and yelling, "Grow **** you!

I also have Encyclia bractescens. You may remember I broke the one spike on it last year and so it only had two or three flowers. This year, if I'm careful not to assault the poor thing again, it looks like there will be plenty of flowers. Two spikes and the foreground, left one is branched.

Wow!! I have this plant but it's just hanging roots and no sign of spikes. I'll have to check again.
Your A. citrata looks so snug in its basket and coco. I looked at the little light green nubs of mine. One is definitely a spike but I think the others are roots. I still have 3 dark green spikes from last bloom, too.

Only one spike and a few buds on my E. bractescens. looking forward to yours, Laurel. I'm having a fight with my internet today. I keep timing out.

This is Pleurothallis striata coming into bloom for the first time. You can see the flowers forming through the sheaths below the leaves if you look closely.

Ohh, sorry about your internet, Kathy. I've been struggling with my card reader today. Do you know if Aerangis citrata back blooms? Doesn't seem like it would. This is my first time with the plant.

Here's the entire Pleurothallis striata.

And as an aside, I discovered I'd accidentally left Den. thyrsiflorum the past few nights with temps down in the high thirties. Guess it was just the kick in the pants it needed...it's spiking months late! Rolling on the floor laughing

Looking good Laurel!

Took a studio pic of my Lyro Petite Fleur using a mirror for a reflection. Used the sky as the reflected background.
