Calif_Sue said:You can get the 150 from Pixlr and shouldn't have to go to another program to adjust it! In step 5 in Angie's post she wrote:
5. If your height is not exactly 150, go back to Resize. Enter 150 in the height. It doesn't matter if the width isn't exactly 1500 (it can be any width, as long as it is wider than 1200), but the height MUST be exactly 150.

Angie said it isnt necessary to have 150 exactly either but it must be bigger not smaller. Sometimes It just wont hit 150.151 is OK with me.

Sue.What a great tip. Just opened EXPRESS and its fantastic. I had begun to wonder if it was possible to type in 150 somewhere.
No more holding my breath while sliding the crop bar.
I had been playing with EDITER but EXP. is the nuts. Thanks.

Actually Angie said said the opposite "doesn't matter if the width isn't exactly 1500 (it can be any width, as long as it is wider than 1200), but the height MUST be exactly 150."

Glad the Express is working out for you. Thumbs up The edit functions I use the most are the Vibrance, Contrast and a small amount of sharpening. Sometimes I use the Airbrush to remove distracting spots.

I just posted a new banner using vibrance and sharpening plus focal but not too much as it's easy to get carried away and the whole banner looks like a cheap movie marquee LOL.

Yep, those features have to used with a delicate touch.
Still too blurry, keep trying Jo Ann!

One thing about using the finest resolution setting: the photos each take up more memory. I added a memory card to my camera, and now I can hold more than 100.

I download to PICASA which deletes the images if I want it to. I dont keep images on the card. They also go to My Pictures and remain there without editing. I grab them from there now to edit in PIXLR.

I bought a 16GB memory card from Amazon and it holds thousands of photos on my camera's highest setting. The card was around $12 if I remember correctly.

I think my 2 GB XL memory card cost around twice that, but it was around five years ago. The photos seem to be 3 MB each with my current settings, so in theory that card should hold 683 photos! I just never had more than 120 or 150 at one time.

My camera is an 8 Mega pixel Olympus FE-340 that I bought refurbished. I wonder how they fit 8 M pixels into 3 MBytes? My "size" is the max, 8M and the compression is "fine" instead of "normal".

It must be some kind of compression because each pixel must have data to encode color and brightness. I would have guessed 16, 24 or 32 bits per pixel!

BTW - Goodwill near me often has camera tripods of very different quality, usually for just a few dollars.

I asked my DH to pick me up a spare SD card for my camera. He came back with one that holds 32 GB! Of course, I also have several external hard drives for storing my photos, too. FINDING stuff, now, that's a whole 'nother problem! Hilarious!

>> FINDING stuff, now, that's a whole 'nother problem!

Agreed. I try to go through each upload and split up them into topics. Then periodically I go through each "topic" and pick out the best ones.

>> I also have several external hard drives for storing my photos

I have a really old, refurbished PC with a hard drive that's tiny by today's standards. It got full, what with junk, unused SW, and photos. So I purged what I could from the Home PC and moved most of those photos to a 16 GB USB memory stick.

I keep "everything" on my PC at work. Hmm, "ONLY" 6,000 photos and 13 GB? I've been lazy!

Sue, I could not figure that out. Can you please tell me how to use the Airbrush feature?? Confused I'm all ears!

I don't have my laptop as it crashed but I just tried it on my husband's and I can't get that airbrush function to work. Glare
I also use Picasa for the editing features and it has an easy retouch tool.

I've been using the Window's Live Photo Gallery for touch up's but I like the Pixlr for other stuff like the text. I do not have Picasa, I did not know it was for editing.

Picasa is very easy to use. Your Windows Photo Gallery has a retouch function. I remove spots on blooms that may be distracting. Green Grin!
