Beautiful! I may have to check out ebay. Not having much luck with seeds.

I replanted and only a few germinating, BUT it looks like at least ONE Black Dragon. That's all it takes, then I can take cuttings! Yay!

here is the seller I bought them from.. you can browse the Knox Nursery page and they will do a buy it now if you want a flat of just one kind.. or take your chances with bidding on a mixed tray or smaller lot.. which I prefer because it's usually cheaper.. and usually the only way to get a mixed tray of something

http://stores.ebay.com/bountif...
http://www.knoxnursery.com/def...

edit -- when I buy from a bid.. it's worth doing multiple auctions.. they combine shipping.. and the reason I bought so many

Those eBay coleus look great. I ordered 6 Song Bird and 6 Chaotic Rose plugs. Hope they look as good. Not expecting much at 6 for $3.99. I got a fairly good number of my cuttings throught the winter. Most of what I have now are cuttings of cuttings or some really leggy ones that will be made into cuttings very soon. Will be glad to get them out of my kitchen, but it does save me a lot. Honey Crisp was one I bought late in the season last summer and it has given me a number of cuttings. Seems to be an easy one to root. It changes colors more than any other coleus I've grown. Was almost a pale yellow when I got it from the greenhouse and in the house developed lots of bright red colors. Don't plan to order any more but hope to pick up a few new ones locally. Still cold here with 9 ins of snow a week ago and snowflakes, ice last night. So ready for spring!

Am I ever glad to see you aren't letting the fear of coleus downy mildew stop you from getting new coleus. In another forum they are talking about what to replace coleus with in the garden. for fear of introducing downy mildew.Fear seems to be that it could spread like the disease in impatiens & we should avoid having a monoculture of these plants in our yards.
Nice haul,Allison! Do you think it is safe for the average person to mail out coleus? It is very cold here in Iowa.

as long as the cuttings are insulated in the box it's not so bad.. the cuttings that came were in plastic and Styrofoam on the outside .. will protect them like a cooler.. and overnight delivered .. if it's a limited amount you are sending I would wait longer though.. not worth taking the risk of them turning to mush.. any disease worries me.. but won't stop me.. I have had a few from reputable companies fuzz up and rot away within days of getting here.. just have to be careful with how you handle the containers you had them in.. and dispose of them quickly.. good thing is .. they are in the house for at least 2 months.. and if there is any sign of funk.. they are outta here

Those look great.

Comment on the post for eBay seller Bountiful Plants -- I've gotten several types of plants/plugs from this seller and was happy with what I got. There was a small problem with one flat and it was corrected immediately.

Another good eBay seller for coleus is myblueheavengifts. She sells 6 of a kind for $3.99. The plugs are tiny. About 3/4"X2". I only lost one of the 12 I ordered and that was my fault. Also got some very nice annual grass plugs from her and some wave pansies. Can't seem to find my camera or I'd take photos of the plugs. I potted them up in 2" pots and they will be ready to go outside as soon as it warms up a little more.

Here's a couple of the coleus that I got fom myblueheavensgifts. I potted them up into the 2" pots about 2 weeks ago and have pinched them already. The second photo is of some of the coleus cuttings I have ready to put outside if it ever warms up.Thumb of 2013-04-20/stilldew/55217e

Hi everyone, I am quite new with Coleus, just got some two weeks ago. I got the tags on 3 out of 4. I have long admired these plants, but never knew what they were Smiling
Since all my plants are in containers, it will be a good addition to my small garden.
I got Coleus 'Wasabi, Coleus 'Saturn', Coleus 'Redhead' ( I do no know if this is the right name, I did not see it in the database, unless it is listed under another name) and one no name.
