Lynn great job!!! Did you leave some of the roots outside just laying on top of the dirt towards that right hand side. It is very important when they have a really big root system to get all those sporadic ones under the soil...some seem a little harder than others....maybe it was just my funky ones I received yesterday that were left growing wild here
Sue very nice what you did with the shell! I will be able to do mine soon here as well. Very exciting
Name: Marilyn Greenwood Village, CO (Zone 5b) Garden today. Clean next week.
I love all the logs and shells and other natural material everyone is using in there plantings.
I have several projects going and now just need to get those done before I try to do one like the ones you are doing.
Wish me luck and warm weather again. Although we have bright sunshine out there it was 2 last night, hope to get above freezing today then 60 by Saturday, then more snow on Monday.... up down, up down, up down. never liked roller coasters, always had a techy tummy
Marilyn, hang in there and hope things get more sane for you! Waiting for your finished projects!!
Lynn, nice job! but I didn't realize that your log is that small? till I read your dimensions. It's smaller than mine and I thought I was planting miniature...OK, you win! but don't want you to think I want to start any "my log is bigger than your log" thing but so far you have the smallest and Clint has the biggest...
Sue, what a phenomenal shell! and I love the semps peeking out from there just like the ex-inhabitant of the shell would!!
Jackie, the little brown skinny stems are from the Rosularia, they send out new offsets at the ends of them. That is why I planted so sparsely, it will fill up quickly once the plants start producing.
Can't wait to see your projects Marilyn, you have such a creative talent.
OK, I added a little Jovi but it actually barely fit in there. Apparently Froggy told his friends and this morning the whole gang was out there, all wanting to be in the photo. You can see my little propagation tray of Jovis in the first picture. Even a goldfish or two surfaced for the big event . I think it is all rather colorful .
Awesome Connie. I love the contrasting colors. Very eye catching. I think your frogs have become camera hogs. Just look at them hamming it up.
I can see it's rubbing off on the goldfish.
Those sedums I simply scraped up out of the garden. The Ogon really takes over. Now I need to move it back under the eaves in case we get dumped on again!
Ok, very green frog sitting in log should definitely stay in unless he grows too big and starts to obscure the succulents...
Very cheerful and Happy looking planter, Connie!!
You have the greatest frogs Connie! I love the different positions they're in. The ones they sell around here are all just sitting the same way - no fun at all.
Guess what? I found a log!!! Well, actually a stump kind of thing. I was over helping my parents yesterday and had to use a ladder. Here behind their shed they had the greatest hunk of hollow wood. I asked what it was for and they said "nothing, just take it"! Right now it's covered in 1/4" of ice (like everything else around here), but eventually I'll get it planted up.

Sure are! God picked out some extra special ones for me!
Some of us are so fortunate to feel this way!!!
Oh yes and glad you found a log!! I haven't even begun to look because well, I know I'll find one! (or several perfect ones, and it really is the last thing I need to bring to my building!
