I will unflag it for now for a different reason.
Upon justnow closer inspection of my photos of this I actually found that it might have a few white stripes, just that the flower is so pale they barely show up at all.
I had worried about this possibility last year for some reason. "What if you had a stripey flower, but it was white stripes on a white background?" Guess now I know!
Except it is white stripes on a very pale peach background. So, the seedling might be OK for breeding with something much darker.
Here is a different bloom of it. Look at the top petal. There is a definite big white defined area to the right of the mid-rib. Definitely not water marking. Also to the left of that midrib there are smaller thinner white lines. In the original photo I showed, there are similar patterns.
Further flowers, I will be looking at with much more intensity to see if this is true, or all in my head.
Thanks to all for making me go back and examine one more time. I guess I did get stripes, just the wrong background color.
