I have grown Raspberry Pixie for many years, and it is tiny and very hardy and a prolific bloomer in my garden.

I've ordered three little ones from Blueridge Daylilies through the Lily Auction this spring: EVERYBODY LOVES EARNEST (a candidate for the Stout Silver Medal this year), RIBBONETTE, and WALTER'S TANGO. Bob Selman always sends really large plants too.

Betty, Your bad for my budget. Whistling Ribbonette is beautiful! I like Walter's Tango too. You have good taste. Now, I need a excuse to add Ribbonette to my Blueridge shipment. Never mind I have no idea where I could put it either. Hilarious!

Yes, I thought RIBBONETTE was adorable when I saw it and I just had to get it -- I'll pot it up when it arrives and stick it somewhere, probably on a table since I want to make crosses with it.

Oh gosh, you guys. Here I've been going for tall and large blooms, and now I want to go for minis!! There are so many cute ones posted here, but a few really caught my eye. Elfin Magic, Little Rainbow, and that clump shot of Night Dreams really sold me on the little blooms.

Thanks for bumping this thread up Lisa. I may never have found it. Now back to adding to my want list.

It's amazing how I never seem to know how I can possibly fit another daylily in my garden, but that doesn't keep me from buying and sticking them in the ground somewhere.

Vickie, I'm normally a big bloom lover too. This thread is causing me to want Mini's too.
I agree With you about finding homes for all the had to have it, daylilies. One of these days though, I will be out of lawn to make homes. Sighing!

I'm a newbie and very interested in big blooms, but this thread make me look at the little ones differently now... They are gorgeous and sooooo cute !!!
Maybe next year I can order some, since I can't spend anymore and not sure about the space (of course there always pots right Smiling )
But thank you so much to open my eyes and showed me how beautiful the minis are Big Grin

I have a small rock garden and I think I am going to move all of my smaller blooming daylilies to it. I have 3 there already, Little Mucha Minto, Baby Blues and Siloam Merle Kent. I have to move 4 more out to make room for the mini ones.

Cindy, you will have to share a picture of your rock garden.
I just checked my mini and small flower list to see how many we have collected. We have 60 small and mini daylilies on just the diploid list. I am not sure how many tets we have.
Last spring we made a new bed for them.
We started collecting them about 4 or 5 years ago.
We have been crossing our small daylilies for 4 years.
Hopefully we will have lots of seedling pics to post starting in a couple of months.
Most of my new additions are small flowers not miniatures. Here are a few that are new for 2016 in our gardens.

High Sea Sprite
Ice Trumpets

Just added Stella's Ruffled Fingers to my Night Dreams order. I know it is a small, not a mini but I have always loved the look of it, and now I can look at it here at home. I have a feeling there may be more smalls or minis coming here this year, daylily addiction is a terrible thing!! nodding nodding nodding

O'Bannon Springs DLs and Grace Gardens are good sources of small and miniature DLs. So is Delano DLs and Dancing Daylilies. All are excellent, and I know I'm leaving out some others. They send DF+ and have really great prices. Believe me, we shop around. We don't really know how many we have until they are entered into the spreadsheet. We ordered 19 small/minis last night, 50 last week, plus some others here and there. We got one from Spunky a couple of days ago and Tink is going to send one next week when she is shipping. There are plenty of them out there, just keep digging. If you have time to read all of this stuff I'm writing, you have some time on your hands to find some deals on some great little flowers. Demand is going up, so act now while supplies last. You will spend money, but save it in the long run. Plus, you could sell your surplus in a couple of years and buy some more. Just sayin'

David, I tip my hat to you. Your one of the best enablers, I've ever seen. I'm going to use your post to convince my DH, I need more daylilies. Thank You! I'll let you know if it works. Dancing Daylilies has a nice selection.

Teresa,

Mayor of munchinkinland is beautiful. Lovey dubby
It is hard to find and if you can find it, you may not like the price!
In Feb. It sold on the Lilyauction for $110 for a double fan.
Everyone wants it since it was seen on the national tour and featured in the AHS magazine.

Good luck!
Love what you teach and teach what you love!

I do not have any miniatures. After looking at this thread, I think I need to acquire one. What is a good one (older cultivar is fine) for the south that shows rust resistance?

Becky, Siloam David Kirchhoff is a classic. I don't know about being rust resist tho. It has won several awards.

Here is a Siloam that says shows resistance.

Just type in Siloam and 24 pages pops up. Good Luck!

Thanks Teresa. That second one has good resistance. Now I need to narrow the search even more for evergreen or semi.
