So when I click to open a thread page, the floating menu does not show until I scroll up or down. This, even if I am opening the thread midway through the discussion, and none of the top banner or adjacent menu is visible. I am using FF 21.0. Does this happen with everyone else?
Thumb of 2013-06-25/Leftwood/719c9d

I understand why we wouldn't want the floating menu bar to cover the main menu that is sorta part of the banner, but is it possible to make the floating menu bar visible immediately when a page is opened further down?

Rick, go to a thread and to the middle or end of it. If the floating bar isn't there, touch either of the up or down arrow keys and see if the bar appears.

Neat. Kinda like the freeze pane option in excel. I would be lost without that working on spreadsheets. LOL

I don't know if the shadow under the bar has been there all along...but it makes a great graphic.

OK help the old lady out. What is the BAR where the shadow is and what is the shadow? Sorry, terminology drives me crazy. Just when I think I have learned something another one turns up.

It's just a darker gray area directly underneath, Jacquie. It's decorative only, but it makes the menu bar appear to have depth. Smiling

Perhaps Dave can take pity on us old folks with blurry vision and put a space between menu and bar. My old eyes are good and seeing things that aren't there. LOL

I am sorry, but I have the menu bar on the top which is a dark bar with a little house at the far left. Just under that is the ATP logo and a picture of pinkish flowers, under that is another bar with Home on the far left. Please forgive me for being stupid but I do not know what you are calling a shadow?
Are you talking about the black line going across directly under the menu bar? It is not as prominent as the one showing chelle's quote at the top? I think I am looking for something much bigger than you are talking about since i can barely see it on my screen. Sorry. Just don't want to miss anything. *Blush*
