Enjoying all of your many gorgeous flowers. It looks like many of you are having a pretty great season so far.
My first tree peonies opened on May 1. It seems a little early for us here, but I'll take it.

Wow, gorgeous blooms, Tracey and Gary!

Tracey, so glad to see that your peony blooming has begun. BTB and YT are beautiful! I have YT coming this fall from Solaris Farms. Can't wait to get that going in my garden. Looking forward to see more beauties from your garden.

Gary, you have some super nice cultivars blooming for you now. What do you thing of Nelda's Joy? How is it growing in your garden and how long have you had it?

I have had Nelda's Joy for 3 years. It had 1 bloom year one, 3 blooms year two, and 5 blooms this year. It has been reliable, holds it's blooms well, and is one of my favorite additions. Well worth the money.

Yes Val, my season ends the first week of June. It gets so hot that anything still in bud at that time just balls and never opens.

Good to see your blooms Tracey. I know you have to be excited.

Gary, your blooms are looking good. My Belle hasn't bloomed in a couple of years! It's nice to see yours.

Here is a photo of Cat Whiskers, an Itoh bred by RF Anderson. I planted it last Fall and am pleased that it bloomed.

LG - My garden grows with love and a lot of hard work.

Gary, thanks for posting your Belle Toulasaine. There aren't too many pictures of it, and I am pretty sure my mis-ID Itoh is Belle Toulasaine. Does yours get powdery mildew early? Mine always gets it, but this year it arrived a week or two ago. So early.

Mine does not get powdery mildew. Gordon Simonson is another purple that looks very similar.

It's so nice to see more pics of Nelda's joy - I was admiring and wondering about it. Looks like a very unusual, glowing color!

So many drool-worthy flowers! 'Nelda's Joy' looks very pretty. I bought that one a couple of years ago, but it has not flowered yet. It is nice to see garden pics of it.
LG, I hope you have all lovely flowering by the time your heat sets in.
Karen, you look like you are having a really special flowering season.
The peony catalogs need to hire you all to do their pictures. You're selling them! I tip my hat to you. Congrats on all your beautiful blooms.

[quote="kousa"] Thank you so much for the kind comments, acorns and thumbups! So far this year, my tree peonies totally outperform my expectations. Somehow, the mild temps in the winter really helped them grow in order for them to produce so many buds.

I am so in love with Joanna Gilbert TP. The flowers are packed full with petals and in a lovely cool light pink color.

I don't see any offering in the US. Perhaps you can contact Solaris Farms to see if it maybe available this fall? The only place I see offering at this time is Halifax Perennials in Canada. https://halifaxperennials.ca/p...

Thanks Tracey! Seems like I have better results with the peonies this year than previous years. They are early blooming this spring too, such that I will have ample peonies for Mother's Day. Hurray! Hurray!

Here are some new peonies blooming in my garden today.

For Ruthanna, Joanna Gilbert's last 2 good blooms.
