Susie - The scapes on your daylilies are more than likely forming now so it would be a good idea to apply a your Osmocote now along with a systemic (if you use chemicals) for the thrips and aphids.

With the weather holding, starting your water program will insure lush foliage...

I have scapes forming now.

Wave Petunias are still blooming -always a good sign.

Margaret - I hope you get bloom from TTKG this summer it is a large bloom and in your zone should show even darker than the one i have posted. I think it would work well with Rock Solid for a possible patterened eye seedling.

Thanks Lyle, I will have to try that cross if they are nice and bloom at the same time, although I guess I could freeze some of the pollen.

All of my leaves seem to be looking very healthy and robust. Spacecoast Starburst leaves look sort of bluish. Bluer than I remember from last year. No scapes yet. They'd better start pushing if I'm to have some May blooms! Really looking forward to all the pretty pics this year.

It's April 14 and I still have no sightings of scapes. These very green and healthy looking plants are really doing a number on my head!

Susie - I don't think you have any early bloom daylilies and that is what is sending up scapes now...

Sometimes you have to look close the scapes seem to appear overnight..

Ah... OK. I'm counting on you being right, Lyle! I remind myself that your garden will be peak mid-May? Right? There is still time!

I'm checking down on my hands and knees every morning... a little excessive!

Susie - mid May to early June is usually peak depending on the weather...

You just need some early blooming daylilies...

This is a good early blooming daylily....

You're right! Early bloomers.
Is there a pink? I think last time I saw you we talked a little about that.
