I also took advantage of the nice weather. Went out and turned over the soil in my grow bags, added leaves and organic matter to the bottom to hold water (grow bags dry out fast) and was happy to find a huge leaf pile I built three years ago and was too lazy to turn or tend at all has finally broken down into plenty of useable leaf mold. I added that to the grow bags, too. Planning to plant snap peas, garden peas, and potatoes tomorrow, supposed to be even warmer.

The rain finally let up and I had to get outside and do something. Didn't do much, just spread some grass seed in a few places where the new grass didn't grow well because I walked on it too soon. It was still too cold out to do much.

I just finished raking up all the wood chips and landscape fabric around my beehives. Because that awful Bermuda grass has taken over now I have to start from scratch I guess this time I'm going to put a couple layers of cardboard down then some landscape fabric on top of that and then about 4 inches of wood chips. I bet that won't even slow it down.

Forgot to post this yesterday.I assisted my electrician with replacing the outside post light that intermittently would turn off at night and come back on after awhile. I tried replacing the sensor on top to no avail. This turn out to be a win, win situation. The old light used a 175 watt bulb. The new LED light uses a 38 watt. This light will pay for itself in no time.

The tree trimmer finally came yesterday to cut down the dead tree in my shade bed! Now I will be busy cleaning it up and burning the wood. Looks like I'll have nice weather for a bonfire! Hurray!

I love bonfires but DH not so much. When my boys or brother and wife come in the summer, we get to have bonfires in the back yard, DH sleeps in front of the TV. Thumbs down

This morning I weeded for 2-1/2 hours and then helped DH with the chipping. We still have debris from the hurricane to clean up, but everything was at the back of the lot where it wasn't visible to anyone so we can take our time cleaning it up. Yard waste is picked up tomorrow and I have two large rolling cans full.

Planted one 16-foot row of peas each day on Sunday, yesterday, and today. Finally done, and almost finished the potatoes, too. Should have those done tomorrow.

My dead tree is now just a pile of ash and a few glowing embers! I even pulled some weeds in that bed. Beautiful weather is making me really want to get out there and get my hands dirty!

Cold out this morning with a few days of sixties coming this weekend. Got a chance to go to the garage with gloves on and did some bud counting on my Genesta daylily scapes that I left there until I got the time. Only had a chance to count the thirteen scapes from one of two clumps.

I have not been doing anything outside cause it is winter but I have been fixing some of my yard décor that goes back outside when the weather warms up. Here is what I have done.
This past couple weeks I have been fixing holes that are in some of my yard ornaments that attract bees to build nest in them. I found suitable objects and glued them with GE Silicone ll adhesive.

The wind blew this little girl over and she hit something that broke her by her eye. I filled it in with silicone adhesive. From a distance it won't be noticeable but at least wasps won't be building a nest in her.

When I got this one at a sale, it was already broken. So I fixed the hole at the bottom and covered his lost arm with tape. I need to put silicone adhesive around the tape to hold it. For some reason, the tape would not stick very good.

A couple days ago I started painting a few things that needed to be freshened up.

I have also repaired other knick knacks that I am anxious to find a place for out in my flower beds. I still need to check out solar lights that aren't working and wind chimes that need fixed. I am going to try using 20 lb. fishing line for my wind chimes. Does anyone know of anything else that will withstand the elements to keep wind chimes from being destroyed by the sun and wind??

We are having a few days of April weather.I am waiting for patches of snow to melt so I can rake a few gardens that are dry.
I took a short stroll to check the borders where dwarf iris are. Lots of increases, looks like spring will be beautiful.

I spent the morning with the clippers, doing some long overdue trimming.

Did some general stuff outside this morning. Picked up twigs, cut off a hornet nest with my pole trimmer. Fed the birds. Replenish their bird bath. Currently at the muffler shop getting muffler replace so DW will be happy Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
If it were only that easy D'Oh! We broke a 100+ year old temp record yesterday. Went up to sixty seven. Flirting with another one today.

I washed and vacuumed the Jeep today! It was so nice that we opened up windows in the house. Also cut back a burning bush that was getting too big. Managed to do a little cleaning up in the backyard. I still have a lot to do, but it sure felt good to be outside and not bundled up in winter clothing!

Was out watering in the peas and potatoes I planted earlier this week. I saved it for last because our nearest hose is disconnected; have to cart water from around the front.

Hope to turn over and add compost to the rest of the beds/bags starting tomorrow.

We had a gorgeous day yesterday. It was at least 60. I went out and cleaned out 3 beds. Pulled out the old foliage from the Iris, 2 New England Aster, a Black Eyed Susan, and a few other plants I am not sure of their names. The double re-blooming Iris are coming up nicely. It felt so good to be outside in the warm fresh air and not cooped up in the house.

I won't be going out today. We had rain last night and this morning and everything will be too wet to do much except track around mud.
