New Note is a dl that has eye popping color, it stayed around 15 inches or so for me though, so nice in front of the border if you need a shorter one.

Frillylily,
That is a full ten inches shorter than the data base shows, so I would think in my garden it would be a pretty tall plant. Speaking of trying to ID daylilies, that is a good example of why it is so very difficult, even when you have all the stats.
'New Note' :

The photos show a lot of variation in colors but I know from experience that is as much the cameras fault as it is variation in the actual color of the plants.

There is nothing I like better than bright daylilies in the garden, the ones that you notice when you stand back for an overall view. Several times a day when leaving the seedling beds I will turn and look to see what seedling catches my eye then go back and take a closer look.
A few of my favorite registered cultivars with grab your attention color....

Golden yellows

Big George, one of the best doubles I've grown, 7" blooms and reblooms for me.

Condilla, beautiful hose-in-hose (layered) Double

Doc Webster, tall, the combination of height and bright color make it stand out in the garden.

Red, Hot Red to Rose.....

Thin Man for it's size and clean color

Wispy Rays, incredibly bright hot red on a big bloom!

Mystic Pizza, another big red bloom.

I find my favorite rose blooms have what could be called raspberry, coral or fuchsia mixed in.

Addis Ababa, beautiful clear color

Jellyroll Morton, big and bright, super plant and form.

Orange, I do not grow many orange daylilies. The one visitors are always asking about (and want) is Outrageous. Not sure if it is the orange, red or combination of the two that attracts their attention.

Guadalajara grows great in Alabama, where you and I are. I have uploaded a photo of Guadalajara in the pot the day I bought it. It is spectacular. Yes, it is an almost 6 inch brilliant red orange double that shines.

I am not sure about how fast Prince of Purple increases. This is my second year with this plant. So far so good. It is a gorgeous grape color.

Bill Norris is an older cultivar, (Kirchoff 1993), but it has heavier substance and a bigger ruffle, like the newer cultivars have. It is one that I will always have in my garden.

Today we had our second bloom of Fire Bird Suite (Trimmer 2008). Oh, my goodness. Talk about something that glows!! It is new to our garden this year and looks like one we will have to keep forever. I think it is even brighter than Outrageous, which quite a few people on this post really love. My Outrageous hasn't bloomed yet this year, for comparison. Love, love this Fire Bird Suite!! There is only one FBS photo posted on ATP, so I will post another photo when it blooms again.

Thanks everyone. I have really enjoyed these Brightest Colored Daylily posts today.

Lisa, is that color accurate on Victorian Blush? If so, I don't know how I can live without it! I've been wanting a pink that is that exact color, but it seems like in reality, they are never that vibrant in person.

Yes it really glows from across the yard!

Another picture of it that someone else took that I found on Internet. Scroll down to Victorian blush and click to see.

I think alot of color variation comes from the difference in taking pics in the morning vs afternoon. I know some of my dl would not even be recognizable as the same bloom.
My New Note always stayed really short for me, but so does Primal Scream. It blooms well, but I just have not ever got the kind of height it is registered at.

Alabama Jubilee is also a really bright color.

I agree with the color variation. That's odd that Primal Scream grows short for you. It is tall here. Have you had it a long time??

I have had several people respond about how wonderful the comments about the plants are! So please keep the comments coming in this post about your favorite "standout in the garden", "steal the show" type of daylilies, but also go the extra step and add these comments to the data base so that those who do not stumble across this thread can still read them. There are some out there who may not know how to do that so if you would like to add your comments to the data base and don't know how it is very simple: Just go to the Daylily database, type in the name of the plant you want to comment on, look to the left in the white box over in the blue border and select add comment, then the comment box will open and type what you would like to add, like " this plant had never reached the stated height in my garden", or "In zone 9A this plant multiplies like crazy" ,or "need to wear shades to look at this plant the blooms are so bright". Pictures are nice, but comments can really clue you in on weather or not a plant is right for you in your garden.

I had Primal Scream for 3 years before I moved. It didn't more than 20 inches or so. The blooms were huge though and very bright.

Sugar Candy is bright color for purple, I love the orange eye and it blooms like mad.

Little Bee is also a bright color and has a small flower but it gets tall for me. I like it because it blooms later than a lot of the others.

Eruption is a nice bright red, I love it, but it doesn't bloom as long or as much as some of my other dl did. The blooms are big too.

I tried to go back and pick up all the ones mentioned but no picture was posted so we can all see them.

Alabama Jubilee:

Sugar Candy:

Now this is a color I need more of.

Little Bee:

At only 17 inches tall with a 2.5 inch bloom this plant would be lost in my garden.

Eruption:

At 30 inches tall, a 6.5 inch bloom and a name like 'Eruption' this plant is more like what I call a attention getter, a plant that will draw your attention from across the garden.

Jellyroll Morton:

Not as bright looking as I would prefer but at 46 inches tall with a 7 inch bloom it could not be overlooked.

I have several oranges that my camera does not do justice too. Primal Scream is one of my favorites. This is an FFO on a 1 year old Primal Scream seedling, I have high hopes it will look even better this year

I also agree with everyone about Buttered Popcorn, one of my absolute favorite yellows. Another favorite yellow is this NOID. It is one from that old daylily farm out Cottage sits on, so whatever it is it was hybridized at least 40 years ago, unless it's a Mother Nature cross
