I only did a few coleus containers this year. I'd always rather grow anything in ground. That way, they don't have to rely on me so much; Mother Nature is a much better caretaker.

Another wonderful thing about the cutting grown ones- many are very sun tolerant, while the seed grown ones don't tolerate my sun at all. Even the Versa series fried in sun here.

Really, Allison. Of course, last summer was an extremely hot and dry one. But the vegetatively grown ones did great.

Gorgeous, Karen! I so wish I could get them to grow well in the ground like that! The 2 areas here where Coleus are happiest are both full of water Maple roots, and it seems no amount of watering will keep them happy enough to get big.

Any available vessel around here is likely to be used as a container for plants. This wheel barrel was just sitting in the barn with a flat tire and broken handle, and made for a good place to grow some Coleus (and a Brug and some Callas). I love trailing varieties, and Meandering Linda is my favorite that I've tried.

This one is particularly bright and colorful.

I wish I'd potted some of these bright ones in larger pots.

Well it is certainly worth looking at Jo Ann. What is the long cascading, blue green plant midway in the first photo? Would love to see a close up of it.

I'm not touching them for at least another week, or when I see new leaves growing. I'm one big coward when trying something new. *Blush*

I ould give another week for longer roots.
Coleus leaves can fool you.
Leaves look strong and healthy but roots are just nodes.

Your cuttings look great.

Thank you Jo Ann for your encouragement. Now I know how new comers to sempervivum feel. Worried, like new parents. Sticking tongue out

Allison and dahlia, next week when they are a little older and stronger you can come over and visit them after their nap time. Big Grin
