I think up projects. Like moving stuff or making a new garden bed. No more room for new garden beds, thank goodness. I just don't have the energy to get so much done these days.

Your thoughts sound much more focused and productive than mine are! Mine tend to run like this: 'wow, look at all those weeds... oh, look, a butterfly!' Green Grin!

I had that same kind of day.

I puttered and watered a little bit but could not get going on anything of consequence. Not even planting the remaining pansies from the flat my cousin bought last week. There they sit, just hanging out.

It's good for the garden to give it a day of rest, I feel. It's also good practice to spend at least as much time admiring your work as doing the work.

So we've all been good gardeners today, right? Right.

Green Grin!

I don't expect to do much outside other than, getting the tropicals inside, digging up a few plants that won't overwinter outside, and a little bit of fall clean up. We will be away for 2 weeks in Oct and a week in Nov.

Oh, Roses, that sounds like a big project! What's the sale in aid of?

Holly, I'm the opposite. I think I will likely be busier in the garden over the next months than I have been lately. There's a new bed to organize with "lasagna method" layers, including laying out paths and steps. And then wintersowing will be a big deal this year. But for the moment, there is a lull.

Sounds great, Holly! We're scheduled to go to Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach and to a villa in Puerto Rico in December. Right now I'm baking and collecting items for another yard sale to support the legal action against the permits given to one land owner who wants to dump sludge on all his tenant farmer's land. We've collected about 50,000.00 so far, but much more is needed to get thru all the legal battles. We organize socials where funding and education against the sludge is targeted. We have a new anonymous donor who will match whatever we raise. We've recently received our non profit status and the Delaware River Keepers are showing interest in our project since we made a video of the water run off which would eventually go into the Delaware River from the streams here. The project keeps us very busy. We have a facebook page and a website. We have 600 names on our petition so far and are constantly doing everything we can to keep the project visible and alive. We've gotten the real estate people on board when we proved that home values go down in the areas where sludge is dumped. The EPA and DEP are being educated by us also. They leave the evaluation of the acceptable land conditions up to the carriers that dump the sludge. These people make so much money from the waste management plants, that they'll dump it anywhere!! We have well water, untillable land, rolling hills and many more factors that make sludging a dangerous thing for the inhabitants here.

I agree What she said.

Though I really don't have any desire to go anywhere, to be honest. Maybe next year, once things are more established in the garden. Smiling

Traveling with a garden can be a real issue and an extra expense. Luckily our neighbor did a great job taking care of the gardens for us this year while we were away. She did a wonderful job earlier this spring taking care of our GH full of very young plants, too.
How about a pic of the finished (for now) pond feature.
