I bet it was overwhelming. Holly, that's gorgeous! And how great that you have someone you can trust to watch over things while you're away.

I have the window open; the weather is mild and there's a sweet breeze. Kaly, my 14 year old cat, is lounging on the window sill which I padded with a couple of hand towels.

Generally I very much dislike the experience of having to listen to someone else's choice in music; more often than not, it's drek, to put it gently. But right now, somebody across the back alley and down a ways is having some kind of party, and there is a live jazz band, playing some delightful easy jazz. I am enjoying this very much! Whoever they are, they're quite good. They did bump up the volume a little while ago, and I do hope they don't do that again, but for now, I'm enjoying this. Even the singer is decent.

And I can always close the window. Smiling

Sounds like a lovely Saturday evening, Kyla!

I wish I could say I'd been productive and got a ton of stuff done, but mostly what I did was get some stuff my daughter needed for school, chase Fritillaries and other butterflies around the yard with my camera, and then admire the new gate my handyman completed for me! :-D

That sounds like a lovely day! Especially the butterfly chasing part.

Got a picture of that gate?

Oh, and I just heard the singer say Happy Birthday J....something, so now I know what the occasion is.

I'll have to get a photo of the new gate tomorrow. It's not something you'd look at twice but at least it's functional. The other one basically disintegrated. Glare

Oh, I found out what kind of poop is in my yard--it's rabbit poop! So, I have at least one rabbit who likes to visit. Smiling I'm surprised the ferals haven't made rabbit stew of him yet!

Indeed.

The jazz concert is getting a little loud. Kaly is still enjoying her lounge in the open window, though, so I don't want to disturb her.

Huh. Now it seems the volume is way way down. Wonder if someone complained, or if the band is taking a break and the canned music is just quieter.

I looked outside and there are light strung all over that yard, big doins! Hoping it doesn't go real late with the louder music!

Yes, I hope they're sensitive to their neighbors and quiet down by 10 pm.

Sounds like a pretty nice day all around.
Ric's in bed not feeling very well, over did it working on the GH today. I'm wide awake with nothing much to do, dug out my counted cross stitch to look for a new project. I have 2 good movies here to watch but I don't want to watch them without Ric.

Gravity and Captain America: The Winter Soldier if I had some romantic comedy I wouldn't wait for him to watch it, but I know he will like both of these.
I have a PBS documentary on the Roosevelts that I have started watching and will probably finish watching that in a little.

Holly, so sorry to hear that Ric is feeling poorly. Sad Has he felt better since last weekend, or does this seem to be a continuation? Feeling concerned. Sad

The first part that I watched was pretty interesting,
He has been feeling better, he just doesn't know when to stop. Up and down the ladder 20 times putting in a new GH door was just too much. He has terrible Arthritis and just doesn't know when to call it a day. Mowed Alfie's yard, too.

yes, I see what you mean, Holly! Glare Are there any meds that give him some relief? Underlying conditions that flare up with use are the pits. You can get so into what you're doing that you don't even notice the pain until you stop--and then you realize you overdid it, and then it's ouch!!

Glad you got to enjoy the documentary. Hope Ric is feeling better tomorrow. Any chance he'll take it easy?

He has to dig open the septic on Sunday, as they are coming to pump it out on Monday. It doesn't really need done but our Township requires all septic systems need to be pumped every 4 years. He has a pain mgt Dr and has a pretty good regiment but with overuse and certain weather conditions he has flare ups. I don't think he is ever completely pain free.

Oh, dear. That sounds a little like me and my good ole back. I do hope Ric doesn't overdo with that septic, that sounds like a rough job.

I know with my own body there are days and times and hours when I literally have to quite trying to accomplish stuff and focus totally on getting over the last thing I did! But I seem to have a combination of methods that work for me, I am very grateful to say.

It's forecast to be hot today, well, 89/90-ish. Yeah I guess that's hot. Hotter than most days have been here recently. Anyway, I likely will not get into any heavy lifting. But I will putter some.

Big projects a-looming are *harvest compost and *set up new bed(s) with their first lasagna layers.
