Very pretty, Holly. I have been gifted 3 orchid plants in the past. One of them rebloomed once.

I was doing pretty good keeping them alive and the occasional re-blooming when I had them in the house. But since we got the GH they are really doing great and most all of them re-bloom. I have one in a hanging basket that grows without any soil picked it up last year in Dec waiting for that one to re-bloom, just so excited that Ric has kept it alive, a feat in it's self.

Here it is near the end of February. I sure do hope we get a warm March to make up for the excessively cold and snowy February. The garden is nothing but a sea of white. I will be sooooooo very glad when the snow melts and green grass starts to grow.

I find myself just wanting to stay inside. I have no desire to go to town or even go outside. I am so afraid I am getting depressed and will loose interest in my plants. It is so easy just to sit and play games on the internet and read and knit. Maybe I should act my age and just do that. Leave the greenhouse to the young people. I love staying in bed until 9 a.m. now. Never did that before. I was always up by 7 or earlier....I need sunshine and spring big time.

They are calling for snow again today and maybe tomorrow. Not much but who cares how much...I don't want to see another flake or a piece of ice.

We are all tired of the snow and ice. As far as getting up early, in the winter there doesn't seem to be any reason to get up early and more reason to lay around in bed as far as I am concerned.

JB you are one active lady, at least mostly so I would say never act your age. It keeps you young.

JB, Your zest for life will awaken with Spring. Until then just Veg a little. I have been watching Hallmark movies, taking care of my parents, and playing with house plants. There should be some Flower Shows coming up soon, so drag yourself out there and find some pretty colorful flowers to lift your spirits.

Holly those little gems are beautiful. What do you make them with other than spagnum moss...soil, they should be very popular to sell. There are many people out there who love miniatures and there are many miniature plants available. My friend has been collecting them for years and she gave me two little trees. I just love them but have a problem keeping them wet enough. I am not one to over water and the mins seem to take more water since they are in such a small amount of soil. I do also love water gardens. Have you ever tried making those in a snifter? Back when, I used to try all that stuff and it was such fun.

Prayers for your family. I know what it is like to care for ill parents and it is really a labor of love. I must admit I noticed when both were gone, I was exhausted. My sleeping habits were crazy due to night time bedside visits, etc.
Take care of yourself and keep up the wonderful work you do with plants. Your talents are outstanding. Hugs .

I am going into town today to the chiropractor and to WAWA for a hoagie and a coke. Yahoo. I am still alive cold or no cold. Hurray! Hurray!

JB, They are fun and easy to do. You shake the soil off the plant roots and wrap the roots in sphagnum moss, use string to hold the moss in place. Then mix damp potting soil and clay soil together (about half each) and make a ball with the soil, the soil should hold together without crumbling. Break the ball in half and mold it around the root package. Then cover it in sheet moss and wrap in string to hold it together. You can hang the ball or set on a plate, looks really nice set up using something like a small pedistool.
Last nights beautiful sunset

Ric put both of our names in a drawling at the local flower show and surprise surprise I won! A garden cart full of garden items and a $300 gift card from a local landscaper. You can use the handle of the garden cart or hook it up to the garden tractor and it dumps, too. It was filled with 2 cases of bottled water, bird feeder with 25lb bag of seed, humming bird feeder with bottle of food, a weather station temp and rain gauge, garden seat, long handled loppers, adjustable folding rake, Micky Mouse kneeling pad with children's hand tools, hand tools, and hand soap. Cart and all I'm thinking about $500 worth of stuff plus the $300 Landscape gift card. I seriously can't remember the last time we won anything of real value. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket.

Snow cover still here and pretty thick but there is one bare patch of ground out in the front yard. And there the daffodil and crocus foliage is starting to come up. I am sure if the snow melted off I would start to see spring bulbs coming up all over the garden. Can't wait!

It is beautiful out there today. Ric and I went for a drive to check out the local streams. They are all running pretty high. Came across a couple of kayaker's they had just come down this stream. There was another group that was suppose to be coming I was hoping to get a picture of them running the rapids but they never did and finally we started to get cold and headed home.

Very pretty, Holly! Sounds like some brave kayakers!

Yesterday I noticed that the snowcover had finally melted from under the dogwood tree--and there are crocus shoots there!! Hurray! Maybe spring is finally here at last!
