I bought Mesmerizer from Schreiners this year to verify. Thanks, Barbara

Linnea,
I'm 95% sure I bought it from Lowes. The following year after it bloomed I bought 2 more from Lowes (since I thought it was so pretty) and those bloomed white but not the same iris.

Bonnie,
I'm going to start a new thread titled "Beautiful Iris". I will post some of my no-id iris pictures along with pictures that I think are just beautiful iris. If anyone has any idea of the names of the no-ids I would be very grateful! Again thank you for your instructions on how to upload pictures. Barbara

I guess I'm getting better...last year the men in white coats were due...but somehow missed me. This year I'm only Slightly Off Balance! Of course that might be partly because I have about 200 iris still in pots from last year! So I only bought 56 so far this year...and yes they are in pots too.

I could explain that it's taking longer to remove the bermuda grass than I planned...or that I've been really busy and doing a lot of travel and volunteer work this summer, that the weather has been really hot,...but my poor iris are suffering! Is there such a thing as an SPCI? Whistling

Hopefully I'll be able to get back at it as the weather cools. Our temps are still hitting 98-100 degree highs most days.

So here is my pattern, you can tell me what you think:

2011 - 2
2012 - 0 (the first 2 'big box' iris didn't bloom)
2013 - 351 (one of the first two bloomed!)
2014 - 56 so far...but still looking!

I better be careful, I think the men in white coats are still trying to find me! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Oh. My. God. Three hundred and fifty one Irises in one year? Woman -- I am gob-smacked. I'm totally impressed with your complete lack of restraint!! You acquired, in one year, what it took me almost forty years to accomplish. Holeee Cow!!! I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.

And BTW -- welcome to our group! Welcome!

You can say that again! You will have one of the largest collections of historic irises in the country me thinks! Of course they may not be all historic.

I just ordered Flavescens, 2 Shah Jehan, another Florentina and a Dolly Madison. And I forgot to count the 4 NOIDs I got earlier this summer. I think this brings me to 102....on 1/4 of an acre with a house and a barn and over 100 trees....although many are little trees. Rolling on the floor laughing

Holeee cow indeed! And good luck with that Bermuda Grass Marilyn. It ain't easy to eradicate. It's right up there with Bermuda buttercup and Ground Morning Glory..

There are several I'd still like to get this year... I only got half of what I wanted from Bluebird.. Which is what I get for ordering so late... But this is two years in a row that I didn't get Paragon.. and I'm desperate to get Apple Valley, Thundercloud and Pink Magnolia if anyone knows where to get them this late in the game... (or some to divide??)

'Ablaze' from the historic bunch shows no green, but the others are doing so. I will keep my fingers crossed. We have a wire 'tent' over them so turkeys can't dust in that bed.

I just received a small shipment from Stout too. I was very happy with the size and health! This was my first order from them and I will be ordering from them again next year.

So any of you still looking to add to your collections check Stout, and Iris Sisters Farm in Oregon, and Hortons (for some of the older cultivars) in Loomis, Ca. I'm sure there are others...but those are the ones I know of...and yes, I know I'm an enabler!

Wow Arlyn, how many different cultivars do you have? Your beds must be amazing during the bloom!

Marilyn
